I saw a black Mercedes SLS GT convertible at 1st and Detroit yesterday morning. I love the way the looks of these things just sneak up on you! It takes a second to take in how pretty it really is. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Friday night, ate at Yardhouse in Park Meadows, came out to see a white Maser GT, red Gallardo spyder, as well as a red Bentley CGT in the lot.
Last night on 14th and Arapahoe sat a orange aventador (lime green interior) and a maroon granturismo convertible. Aventador owner is probably about the same age as me... Makes me quite jealous.
Would you be jealous if he were 40 and told you that he slaved away for 20 years to save enough money to afford the car? Just curious about this. I understand competitiveness but I have never quite figured out jealousy.
Got to drive a white Huracan today at Sil Terhar! Does that count as a spot? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you order one? I am going through the options list now. That metallic white is nice but the metallic black is really nice. I am thinking of a bright interior. I forgot to ask Steve if that car has the dynamic steering option. Tough choices.
I wish. A little out of my price range. In a couple years I might move up into an LP560 or Mclaren 12c though. The test car felt like it had the adaptive steering and it made using the paddles really nice. The paddles are fixed and dont move with the wheel but at low speed the wheel required about 90 degrees of rotation to make fairly tight turns and the shorter ratio keeps the paddles within reach.
I thought you would never buy a brand new car? How does the Huracan feel? Raw like F430/Scud or refined like 458?
It felt very refined. I haven't driven the 430 or 458 yet, but it felt like the 991 generation 911 Turbo S but with more character, exhaust noise, theater and less of that Porsche clinical feeling. Visibility felt close to the Gallardo and steering feel was pretty close to an Evora S. The brakes were sharp but I didn't run them hard enough to determine if there was any "10% brake pedal movement gets you 80% of the braking force" scenario at play, which i've noticed a lot of newer cars have to fool people into thinking the brakes are better than they really are. Throttle response was very good and the transmission was vastly improved and much smoother over the Gallardos single clutch tranny. I believe its either the same or a variation of the Turbo S transmission, which feels great. It felt like the sort of car you could drive across country and remain comfortable. Although, coming from a Lotus Exige, my definition of "comfort" may be a little out of line with most people. Styling-wise, it's a good looking car but a little bit rounded off at the edges for my taste. Felt like it lost a bit of the craziness in design that the Aventador oozes, but perhaps it was meant to be that way. I felt like even some of the later Gallardos, most notably the Superleggeras, seemed just a little bit more aggressive and crazy looking. The Huracan looked dialed back just a tad. I really like the interior though. Infact, I even prefer to it the Aventador's interior I think.
I wasn't but I like this one. I like how it feels and I like how it's constructed. It's stiff in the chassis with a carbon center section (tunnel and firewall) and you can feel it. I normally wouldn't but a new car but this car has me seriously thinking. It's definitely on the rawer side of things compared to a 458 but not quite like a Scud. I definitely wouldn't say it's very refined when you compare it to other current sports cars. Maybe refined compared to a cardboard box but that's maybe it. I was surprised. Part of my issue with buying a new car is that there are so many awesome classics for that money or a little more. Or a little less. But I'm already out of garage space and well into warehouse space. I don't know. It's a lot to think about.
Yesterday afternoon I saw an orange Diablo VT (later generation, with the fixed headlights) at 18th and Curtis. At first I thought it may have been a reproduction as there were a few things that looked just a little too flimsy to be the real thing. But then I realized that I have never seen a Diablo up close, and I recall thinking the same thing the first time I saw a Countach. Either way, stunning car!
Thanks Your first thought was right, it's a replica. Profile looks good for a repro, though heading down to somewhere like Elevation Motors, you can see a couple real lambo diablos on display to compare. I dig the orange and it seems hard to find in a real one, initially considered (Nick Cage's) orange '99 that was brought to CO, but damage to the rear was considerable.
Sunday around 11:45 am, black 348 on Highway 285 headed west. Unfortunately pulled over by Morrison Police.
Yesterday afternoon around 4:00pm, Lambo Huracan, metalic grey(?), pulling out of Colorado Mills on to east bound Colfax. Great looking color on that car.
Black over tan 328 GTS (convex wheels) on McCaslin and 36 Friday at lunchtime? Beautiful car! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trying to decide between the Huracan (or wait for the sypder) and the Mclaren 650s... tough call for sure. that 650 looks incredible.
