Hi Team we have created out Ferrari 400 GT | Longstone Tyres web page. I am building pages for each individual model. I wonder if anyone had any detail that might make the page better, or a picture of specifically a 400 GT; hopefully a tyre related picture that we could add to the page.
Here's a picture of my 400 with CR6ZZ, if you can use it or parts of it -please do. Great performing tires by the way ! Harald Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ha Ha! Yes, thank you that is a great shot. # I totally agree the Avon CR6ZZ tyres are brilliant, but a bit more of a racing tyre. I really wanted a picture of a car with an original tyre on. However if i get a suitable picture with the correct tyres then i can use yours as well showing an alternative. Thank you. Can i guess the ride is a little harsher than the XWX. I wouldn't expect you'd get many miles out of them. The main reservation i would have about using the CR6ZZ on a road car is that because they are racing tyres the compounds they aren't designed to last, so the rubber will deteriorate quicker than road tyres. so under normal circumstances i think you need to change your tyres at 10 years old with racing rubber i would suggest 3 years. However when you throw it into a corner it will grip, then if you push it hard on the throttle the back end will drift in a very predictable, progressive manner. fantastic these progressive tyres are built for historic racing with plenty of grip and they are also progressive.
If it is of any use, I can get an image of the tyre information sticker that is usually placed on the windscreen. This shows the XWX as the recommended tyre.
The racing qualities is why I got them in the first place -and they have exceeded my expectations. The comfort may be harsher than XWX, but still not harsh. And the highspeed stability and predictability is no less than outstanding even on the rather heavy 400. For me personally good tires are a must and a safety issue for "inspired driving" -and I a lot feel better when replacing a worn out set after 3-4 yrs, than replacing an aging set that looks good as new. And for the sake of good order -I'm not affiliated or sponsored by any tire dealers. H

Just to clarify, mine is a 400i Automatic. Same wheels and tyres as the 400 (carburettored). 400i came with XWX or TRX.
