Yes, it was a fun event but you are correct there were no vintage Maseratis present. My 2005 QP was almost the oldest except for a few coupes. I guess the rain kept them in the garage. What a shame!

Here are the two older coupe and spyder. There was another green spyder that wasn't pictured.

I can not take credit for the photos, Maserati had several professional photographers on hand and they did a wonderful job. I just wanted to share them.

Thanks for posting the photos. I am going to the one in LA. Did they not have the Alfieri on display? It's supposed to be at the LA Auto Show.

I was registered to go and we were going to make DC weekend out of it but between some last minute personal issues that weekend and the terrible weather forecast I decided it just wasn't going to work for us.

I heard that my 84 Biturbo would have been the oldest car there! It's not surprising to me that there weren't any vintage examples given the time of year and weather forecast - rain, high winds and mid to upper 30's at night.

Sorry I missed seeing some friends though ... :(

    How many cars were there?

    Hi Guys,

As Maserati ramp up production get ready for more & more modern cars & less classic cars @ these events, cannot wait to see heeps of the new Maserati Levante SUVs next year - WOW the new owners certainly have a handle on Maseratis history??? - I can see all the Maserati brothers turning in their graves,

    Regards,

    David Z.

To be fair it's November and it wasn't a pleasant weekend, rainy cold windy in much of the region, so that will always favor modern cars. Lots of vintage owners will not subject their cars to that. As they appreciate in value more you will see them less and less ... :(

    Get used to it.

    Yep,

In my neighborhood a guy owned a brand new QP, recently he traded it for the new Ghibli. He drives by my house daily in his Maserati going to and from work. Sometimes I have the red Merak out working on it, and recently the gold one.

Over Halloween we happened to visit his house and I introduced myself as the guy always working on old Maseratis in my driveway. He had no idea my cars were maseratis and when I was explaining them to him I could tell he really didn't care. Which is fine but interesting that I bet most of the new owners could care less about the car and its heritage.

This is also why I rarely visit car shows and cars and coffee anymore, so many brand new sedans from Mercedes, BMV, Maseratis, Porsches etc. I find myself getting more excited seeing an old aircooled VW bug than these new cars.
    Sad in my opinion.

    Hello All,

When I received the email from Maserati regarding the event, I thought R U Kidding.

Driving the Merak in Chicago during December winter snow, what fun!!!!!! No, not really!!!!

BTW, Jason you are exactly right, the magic will just stay with the FChatters. :)

    Ciao,
    George

Come on guys, don't become a bunch of curmudgeons. If you don't take them out who will?

Cars & Coffee events tend to vary a lot in the sorts of cars that turn out where I live.

Yes lots of new stuff at times and then we see a 1908 Cadillac in the middle of winter!

I HAVE seen a few amazing cars at times but also a lot of Corvettes etc.

    It's a crap shoot.

    Hello David,

I think most of your vintage Masserati Owners prefer club events and concours and don't use the dealership network from where the invitations came. I also received notice of the event from The Maserati Club & Maserati International.

I disagree that the "Maserati Brothers would be turning in in their graves." They would be like the Dodge Brothers having a blast driving the cars. Maserati of North America did a wonderful job educating the public at the MIE Annual meet in Monterey (Concourso Italiano & Pebble Beach) and at Cento Anni with films of their history, cars and drivers.

You have to remember there isn't enough vintages chassis in the US to have a following except for a few old school guys. I know Maserati because I grew up on Alfa Romeo and Fiat not to mention Ferrari.

By-the-way, don't forget the Alfieri for the enthusiast also coming next year! Here are some shots of the concept car at Pebble Beach.
