3yrs ago i bought my car with only 27000km it now has 103000km .i just did my major in may when it had 86000km.the engine is still now cleaner than when i bought it with 27000km.To be honest when i give my car a good detail it dosent look much different than when it only had 27000km.But then again i do keep my car clean and do take good care of it.I change my oil every 10000 km and never have to add oil.My car is a 99 and does have steel guides.
My point is this..that you would never think my car has 103000km =64375.miles.Just before i did my major i did do a comp test and all cylinders were between 195 and 215.I never have to add oil.I just raced my friends car with 40000km same exhaust and put 4 car lenths on him.I do have a few little tricks done but i cant give away all my little secrets....SMILE

I'll look at the list I have and see how far apart we really are since there are gaps in the numbers.

You must have 2 fuel pumps?

Yeah, you need to release the tabs. Usually, they are not all snapped in and you can get them out by pulling and jiggling. If you remove the instrument cluster first, you can get your hands behind 2 of the vents to make it much easier. If you need to pry, you need to do so with a very smooth blade so you don't hurt the dash leather. Just be very patient.

This is cool Dave. Your one of a few lucky guys on here now who have multiple 355's. Wish
I had the space in wacky SF for another! Would be a spider for sure.

So getting into the sticky refurbishment, I read over and over to not disassemble the switches coz the springs go flying.

I said to myself "no way in hell am I doing these assembled".

Not knowing what to expect, I did one inside a plastic bag.

Guys, this is no big deal. From the bottom, you need to spread the side tabs apart then you can pull the cover off. Knowing where the spring is, you can position your fingers to stop it. Or, to be safe, pull it apart inside a plastic bag to catch the spring if it flys.

would you consider sharing purchase price (or ball park figures) to better gauge the investment?

Ok now put it back together I made a tool to hold the tabs and springs in while putting the cap back on.

Also with my parts I just soaked them over night in the greased lightning.
Screw scrubbing with the steel wool. soaking takes off almost all of it.

Yep. You need to make a tool to hold those suckers in. Also be careful that you don't bend the taps when reassembling or the switches won't "click" correctly.

Will do. If they were assembled once, they certainly can get assembled again (famous last words ) :)
