    I was never impressed with Erickson OR Nasr in GP2.

    IMO Erickson is far from having "It" and he is the lead driver ?

    Gutierrez and Sutil were better choices IMO but Sutil has had ample time to prove himself and has not adequately stepped up. Felt sorry for him at Monaco years back when Kimi piled into thus him taking away a podium. Esteban came on strong out of the gates but the motivation has left. Common problem its seems.

    PS IMO this deserves a thread of its own.

    Don't much follow GP2, but I'm inclined to agree, at least as far as these guys talent levels are concerned. Not sure it's a lack of motivation, just talent that's missing.

    But, OTOH, I guess they both bring big bags of gold, something dear old Sauber seems to be needing right now. Which is a shame, but staying alive has got to be better than the other options..... I wish them well, but am certainly not sure these guys are going to get it done.

    Has Merc actually signed a new deal with LH? I thought they put off talks until after the season.

    I think this is one reason Alonso is holding off making a move - hoping Hamilton pisses of Merc/demands too much money/etc. and is shown the door. Perhaps FA's desire for more championships would lead him to making a very good deal with Merc - getting a top driver at mediocre rates...

    My understanding is that he has a 3-year contract with Mercedes covering the 2013-2015 seasons. I thought the current negotiations between LH and Merc were for the 2016 season onwards.

    There are 4 seats to grab; 2 at Caterham and 2 at Marussia.

    Gutierez and Sutil shouldn't be so gloomy after all . LOL
