Although i'm starting this thread i am far from being inocent in all of this. I never started one but i participated in all of them, some defending, some attacking. Obviously it sucks when some people keep bashing a driver we like, day after day, so eventualy we are going to retaliate, even if this means we are behaving like an o year old kid.
Everyone as the right to like os dislike a certain driver, nobody as tolike them as persons, but i believe we all should respect the job they are doing...better or wors, they are all risking theyr lives out there ( as unfortunatly Bianchi reminded us all). So saying a driver Suck, and bashing him is at least disrespectfull. I believe we can discuss everyuthing but in a different way. If there is a feud between 2 drivers, we can create a thread, A vs B, and discuss that specific race incident, without needing to create a Thread just to bash someone. As i said, regardless of theyr personalities, they all deserve our utmost respect for the risks they are taking every time they strap themselves onto a racing car. Also i belive this sort of threads only serve to creat a bad athmosphere within the f.1 section, so i don't know about you guys but imo, the mods should close all the "suck" threads...

ps. (yes, even the one about Alonso)

I totally agree. Driving an F1 car is very difficult. If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. So bashing the drivers is a bad idea...unless the driver is Pastor Maldonado..that guy sucks big donkey balls.

And Massa, since I think his was the first "... sucks!" thread and it was legitimately earned. Respect the original, close all the pale imitations! :D

Not earned at all, he has shown this year he did not deserve any of that bad rap. Your comment is ridiculous.

But yes, end these threads, so we so not get anymore ridiculous responses.

I suppose so, after all, Felipe has totally schooled that sophomore teammate of his.

Oh wait, it's actually the second year driver that has whupped Massa's vastly more experienced ass this year, scoring more than double his points and ranking so far ahead in the championship table it's funny. :D

Agreed, but they are human beings risking their lives/health for our entertainment, so a bit of moderation & perspective from time to time would be a good balance, particularly in light of Mr. Bianchi's recent accident. Just my 2 cents... T

Some people think some drivers suck, that's reality. The question is, can a framework for those opinions exist in an open forum - a place for people to share and express their opinions.

So, I think the "sucks" threads are ok, but I think there should be a conducive framework perhaps something like this:-
    1) no personal attacks - I can't say driver-X sucks, but I can say driver x sucks at bringing his tires up to temp. In other words, make it about the action or the thought not the person.
    2) It's ok to say something personal if its clear its a joke, ie the post above by @crinoid about suggesting we create an @furoni sucks thread.
    3) No need to repeat ad nauseum the same points. Repetitive/circular posts are boring and aren't contributing anything new

As long as there are mediocre drivers like Massa out there, there will be such threads. Deservedly.

Let's be honest here, Massa is only mediocre when he feels like it! - Sometimes he's better than mediocre - And sometimes he's worse than mediocre!

That's the joy of Massa: You're never sure as to what you're going to get (even Massa doesn't seem to know!)

What has happened to FerrariChat all of a sudden? - Out of the blue there are threads all over the place demanding that people stop voicing opinions on subjects (especially when those opinions go against the main thinking on a subject), and suggesting that we should just praise everyone/everything regardless!

Surely people should be free to voice their opinions (within reason), on subjects, even if others do not agree with them? Isn't that what a free society is all about, the right to express yourself?

If Fchat is going to become a site where you can no longer voice an opinion freely on a subject, then I see little point in remaining here! (and the F1 section will rapidly die the death!).

Just because somebody has a PC bug up his ass doesn't mean the rest of us can't enjoy a good bashing.

    PC people suck :)

    ;)

It all sucks!.... The cars suck, the drivers suck, the teams suck and pretty much all of the posters suck!

'Cept they're going pretty much as quickly as they've ever done. OK, new tarmac, but they're using ~30% less go juice and have way less downforce.

It's dead, & still sucks though.....

    Cheers,
    Ian
