I need to send my vents to Dr. Sticky. I've got the ring separated from the main body. Not sure how to remove the inner chrome ring. Looks like it will come out, not sure if it will ever go back in.
I've searched the post and can't find info on this item.
    Thanks

There is no need to separate the chromed part (not even sure this can be done), Stickynomore did my rings with that part. The result was impeccable!

Yes, the inner ring can be removed, its easy.
I did mine with Macarbon rings, I'm very happy with the look.

My 550 already had the full carbon interior package so they match everything else.

I might be needing help from my Ferrari brethren.

I sent my vents to Robbie. I have removed the plastic rings that were inside the piece that Robbie refinishes. These are plastic. And there are two different finishes on them. The outside "ring" is a chrome looking piece. And mine are showing aging and a kind of chipping on them. Making little black spots appear on what should be a clean chrome ring.

I want the stock look. The Mac Carbon is nice for sure. But it's not the look I want.

I think this little detail may be a challenge. So far, I have found a spray paint that is called liquid chrome. I think it's a possibility.

I've heard others will black it out. But again, it's not the look I'm wanting. ... It's that danged little chrome ring looking crispy new that I want.

They are really hard to make it look factory, we spray most black when they start chipping like yours. But we also sprayed a few sets with chrome spray paint for customers that did not want black. They looked ok, but not factory looking. Those chrome rings are not available for purchase either, you have to purchase an entire new vent. Are all yours chipping or just a couple?

Robbie- Have you ever fiddled with any of those plastic chroming processes?

No, I have not even heard of it. Although I have looked into wrapping the parts in vinyl.

So is the original chrome ring removable as well as the capability to be reinstalled?
