    I try.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the Miura overall as automotive art, and more besides.

You are so right about the lights! I drove 4870 a lot back and forth to a beach house along long dark roads in Florida and it was really tempting fate each time. More glowing orbs than lights.

I have it on good authority that the Miura's headlights possess the luminous intensity of 2 candlepower per unit.

Has been busy times for me, but I'm now back on my quest to find the best looking Verde Miura color code.
I think I asked a similar question around here about a year ago with inconclusive results.
Joe commented at the time that indeed on the SV multiple paint codes were used.
I recently inquired at Lamborghini and they got back to me with a paint code, also PPG chimed in and gave their advice.

Just want to ask some opinions on the picture.
Middle sample is what PPG recommends as Lime Green, Verde Miura. (note that on the label they also indicate Verde Scandal)
On the right is the recipe that the factory prescribes for Verde Miura.
The mixing recipe is basically the same as PPG only Lamborghini adds more black.
Picture was taken in bright sunlight with my mobile phone.
I tried to compare with dozens of pics I have stored on my PC but no firm conclusion yet.

Edit: even after uploading the picture on f-chat I can see the green colors changed from my original picture..... seems to be some kind of white balance correction

BTW the Arancio Canguro on the left is an exact match with Rosso Miura. (Miura orange) I think Olivier asked about the colour code for Miura orange before... so here you go.

Paul, wouldn't it be easier to scan the actual Verde Miura from one of the cars with a paint tool?

That would be an idea.. only problem is there are no Verde Miura cars around here.
Secondly if such a car has been restored before there´s usually no way to tell if they used the original measurement or also just use the PPG recipe.

The PPG Verde Miura for sure is more `lime` than the Lambo version.

#4021 is the 2nd LIP's Miura, it was discovered some years ago in silver paint and restored to its original livery by my friend Neldo before changing several time hands.

Neldo is now selling the 3rd one #4217, that will be finished after 5 years restoration for next june 2015.

The 1st one - #3177 - is under a full restoration for 7 years and belongs to one of my close friend also LCB member.

The Frank Sinatra Miura P400S, immediately after we discovered it in New Jersey some 12 years ago, in completely original condition as sold Joe Nenning by Bob Grossman in 1977. At that point it had sat mostly unused for almost 15 years.

Wild Boar skin, shag-pile carpet, 8-track, and chromed air-box tops all in evidence.

This was prior to Harald's recent excellent refurbishment.

Interesting short video featuring the Shah's Miura SV 4870 in Dr. Khalid Abdulrahim's collection in Bahrain Millionaire Motors: 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV

Some exaggerated power & performance claims by the video producers, but a nice little piece showing the owner's love for cars.
