I am looking at getting another set of wheels for my 2105 spider. Which wheels are considered the the best made? I was looking at forgiato, AV, and novitec to name a few. They all look good, but wanted something that functionally sound too. thanks

I definitely was going with those as one set. Did you buy them thru Chris at Scuderia systems?. Was a bit hesitant since I would be buying not direct thru ferrari..

No... i didn't buy the wheels. Talk to your local Ferrari dealer, maybe they have a set available. Scuderia System have this wheel available. I never bought from this company to give you a solid opinion. Anyway, IMO, the best choice is this wheel in Grigio Corsa.

The Speciale wheels will cause some issues with the traction control as they are a different profile.

No, they will not. The Speciale wheels are 20" in diameter, just like the stock 458 wheels. What causes the traction control issue is the Speciale spec size rear tires. They are an inch less in diameter than the stock 458 tires. You can use stock 458 tires on Speciale wheels with no issues. Or you can use the Speciale's front tires and a 325/30X20 Pilot Sport 2 Cup tire in the rear instead of the Speciale's 305/30X20.

I got my a Speciale wheels from Chris. They came in stock Ferrari boxes.

Did you buy those OEM wheels after you bought the car or did you order it as an option? I saw those wheels in the "new accessory brochure" Wasn't sure if you can get that as an option when ordering your car...

i purchased the rims aftermarket from taurino racing in florida.
    HOME
i paid $12,500 for the rims, including the titanium bolts.
taurino then gave me a credit of $3,000 after i shipped my old rims to them.
so the total out of pocket expense was $9,500.
i could have ordered the rims with the car, but the cost of this upgrade option, through ferrari, was substantially more than $9,500.

If the weights BBS claims are true, (19.3 lbs front, 20.5 lbs rear), he's not far off with that statement:) Very light for a TÜV certified wheel. I wonder if HRE can top that with a TÜV certification. OZ Superforgiatas are 19.5 lbs front and 21.35 lbs rear.

However, I'd be more interested in knowing how wheels with the data of 10x20" ET35 and 11x20 ET15 fit on a 458. Those offsets are very low compared to OE, especially considering the fronts are 1" and rear a ½" wider than stock rims. The biggest issue I see with using the RI-D wheels are that the center bore is 66mm and the Ferrari uses a 67mm. How is that done?
Oedipol, can you provide some info as to how you managed to fit these wheels on to a 458?

I think you have quoted the data for GTR application : RI-003 and RI-004 are for GT-R.
458 application has the no.s RI 014 and RI 015
the wt for RI015 (rear wheel) is 9.1kg (around 20.0 lbs)
link: BBS OFFICIAL WEBSITE and click RI-D !

    RI 014 offset 44 bore 67 size 20x9.0
    RI-015 offset 50 bore 67 size 20x11.0
so its perfect fit for 458. available from July 2014, but has a lead time of 3 months so I just got them 2 weeks ago !

they are a lot lighter and more rigid than OEM forged, you can feel it !

Ah, yes, I see. Thank you.

Hm, you link to the Japanese BBS website. I just looked at the Euro and US site. They don't seem to be available there. On the US site, I can only find the GTR spec wheels and none on the Euro site. Are your wheels TÜV certified? If they can't be TÜV certified, they are not legal for sale here in the EU.

    you are welcome!

I think they are in the process of obtaining certification. You can check baan velgen website for other sizes (baanvelgen.com) or check bbs individual (bbs-individual.de) for up to date info on RI-D for Europe. In the mean time, if you are really desperate then you can buy BBS FI, which has already obtained certification. they are a bit heavier than RI-D (still very light) and look nearly identical.

Not desperate in any way, just looking at possible options, it's winter up here anyway:) I've been considering running OZ Superforgiata 19" which are also very light with Trofeo R 265/30R19 front and 325/30R19 rear purely for track use. Those rims weigh in at 18.4 lbs for the fronts and 21.0 lbs rear. I've ordered a set for the 911, I'm excited to see how they work come spring. Sometimes light wheels get too soft and the car feels like it has no camber due to barrel flex.

Good choice ! Actually I was looking at oz before FI or RI-D were available ! 19" is perfect for the track ! And once u get used to 20" then 19" will feel very soft !
