I am looking for someone to repaint my plenums and also the other pieces in red.

I am trying to do this without removing the parts if at all possible. Most likely have to mask the surrounding areas or paint by hand with a special high temp paint.

Anyone know of a local guy in the Palo Alto/Redwood City who could do such a project?

    thank you!

I believe that it is possible to paint them without removing them but i don't know about the quality. I mean that the aluminium parts must be removed.

What colour are you thinking? Blue or yellow?

Fred why on earth would you want to do that???? Make it look like a regular 459 italia. ????? One of the sexiest parts of the speciale IMO is the Motor in its stock configuration.

Perhaps I misinterpreted and you are only trying to change the color of those pieces which are currently red to another color which I assume would be yellow or white to tie in with your car in such case the idea is not as out there as I initially thought which is thinking yo wanted to paint the black carbon red.

Yellow would be the way to go for sure IMO if you were to do it.

It could look cool as accent and certainly unique.

After all these years I am still amazed and delighted by the creative ways that Ferrari owners find to make their cars unique and different.

Good idea but imo the best way to have the parts painted would be to remove them
    from the engine bay.

The plenums and the central compensator body should be easily removed..

    best

Just take them off and do it right. They come off very easily. If you paint in place it is going to look non-professional IMO.
