IMO Ferrari's plan of overcoming lack of sound and high rev excitement
Is to overwhelm everyone with the huge power increase - It's the First
time a V-8 successor is coming to market with a 100hp bump
Now that will get everyone's attention !

You should not expect screming sound from new car, if you like good sound better buy car with V8 NA

If about any. Turbocharged 458's successor will not sound THE SAME as NA V8, but Ferrari
supposedly will do a thing to make it sound not mean.

I agree with you. And if you listen closely CH mutters that AMG V8s are "musical" by comparison. I don't know about anyone else but I've never been impressed by the sound of an AMG V8. He is talking here about sound "quality" so I suppose there is some subjectivity involved.

I hope the turbocharged Ferrari won't last long. Maximum is 1 cycle before hybrid kicks out. The next best selling Ferrari would be the V12, as there are many customers that won't go turbo, no matter what (like me).
Btw, the 458 successor is a California-T with extra boost (same engine). Then the hardcore version (like Speciale) would be an extra boost from the extra boost. This is the REAL benefit of turbocharged engine, when you want to release a new model, you don't need to invest in engine development, just reprogram to add more boost and easily get 100hp+. Audi has been doing this for long time :
    (low boost) = Standard model
    (add boost) = S
(add boost from S) = RS.
They can keep going on to RSZSSSSRTFGSSSSSSSS......, it's just cheap to do it this way.

Yes and the aftermarket loves TT because they can also run up the boost and sell the software.

As for the V12s, you and I are on the same track. Am thinking seriously about an F12 (already have an FF).

Without a 3rd electric turbo keeping the boost up, I doubt there is much they can do with lag. I have already given up on sound...

Lets assume I know something you dont :)

Would you go after 458T if its sounds beyond your expectations and pulls like naturally aspirated car ;) Like I said, wait for test drive and than give final judgement.

I had a California T for a day. Nice car but engine note is a major let down. NOTHING compared to my 458.

My friend, they couldn't make the F1 cars sound good, what makes you think they could make the road version sounds good?
There are 2 things about sound : Loudness and quality. Lawnmowers are also loud. What we want here is scream, scream and scream. I have never seen any turbocharged car could scream, not even the F1.

I have a funny feeling that Ferrari does it on purpose to cover the sound of the Speciale, so the customers won't LOL too hard when their turbocharged is being introduced. Don't give up, what you need is something to.....release the kraken. Just wait a while until the warranty almost expired.

Do you think that going into turbo will have bad impact on depreciation? I remember thread at this board about Mclaren 12C, it was called "depreciation nightmare"

In F1 the goal isn't to offer a better sound, rather to maximize performance.

Sound can be certainly adjusted in the road cars....we hope! No lawnmowers please! :)

Mercedes try to make F1 sounds better but according to Rosberg there was no good results, I agree with mik458spider that from Ferrari we expect screaming sound but with turbine installed on exhaust pipe it's impossible

Really curious about their solution. Anyway, nearly 100% sure that it is going to work very well :)

Unfortunately the turbocharged F1 cars are slower than the NA. And I don't agree F1 is not about sound. That is one of the selling point.
