I came across a Ferrari which was delivered by GT-Spirit near Lyon. the car was sold as being fully overhauled, new cam belts, inspection etc. well to be honest, the quality of work was very bad. seal leaking after repair. gearbox seal was noticed leaking but they did not replace it although it is a 10 minute job. cam belts were changed with the engine in the car. leaking CV boot not noticed. exhaust bolts missing. the worst of all was that there coolant was 5 litres below level! pipe between coolant tank and radiator delivery pipe was blocked off! sparkplug wires damaged when changing spark plugs. 1 year warranty is just a sales term. basically warranty till doorstep So all in all I am not impressed with the arnaqeurs from GT-Spirit
I went to check out their showroom a few weeks ago and was neither impressed by the quality of cars I looked at, nor by the fact that even if you are serious about buying one you can't testdrive the car. Their asking prices are high, too. I don't have a problem with that as long as quality is delivered, after all they need to make money, too. But 20-30% above market prices for average/less than average cars, I don't know. I was only there once for a few hours, so this might not be representative. But I am unlikely to seriously consider them for future purchases...
I agree with junk car in junk car out. but the car I talk about is in very good condition. with all history known. but to get it on sale, they did a timing belt job without pulling the engine out. they didn't do it the proper Ferrari workshop way, meaning taking time to dismantle everything properly.
A friend of me went there and saw some cars with new paint. But the new paint was done on the old one and on the rust!! So I'm not surprised of your feeling. And it's what I told, if a car come in with work to do, they do the minimum. They are seller, not mechanicals... I advise you to check all on yours and do the work well in a good garage and wish you not to have bad surprise! What is your new car?
