forget the manual cars.....they're not included in the discussion. They're irrelevant as there aren't enough of them. In fact, I don't remember one ever being advertised! Regardless, personally, I'd prefer the F1. Perfect transmission for that car IMO. Let's just stick to what's actually available....F1 575 and 599.
I think anyone who thinks the opposite shouldn't be flying! The 599 is quite large, but so is a 575, just by not quite as much.....but like I've said 10 times, everything else about it is an improvement over the 575 by a very large amount. I can't think of one single reason why a 599 would ever be as cheap as a 575.
Sorted as on little niggles improved such as the engine mounts , the cooling system and assosciated hoses which have been known to fail.
I wish you were my doctor. I'd be able to comfortably retire and could spend all my time driving my car and on this website talking up imports... The 599 is the 360 of the FEHOS brigade. And how are 360 values relative to 355 / 328 / 308 etc?
I agree, but I would not be surprised if they drop below 550's. The market is not rational. If I were to venture a forecast, in 4 years time, when F12's are $300K, 599's will be sub $200. 575's will be where they are now, $130~150K. None of these cars are an investment, but they are a low tear-up high performance Ferrari experience. btw I had a close look at a dark grey F12 awaiting delivery the other day, the paintwork was terrible. They clearly make no effort to remove the peel at the factory.
As I always say, if you want to be right, agree with me! 550 is a different animal because it's the last real manual front engined V12
Nope , that would be the rare manual 575. Yeah yeah I know . No OZ delivery. But these are a world market car.
less than 250 made worldwide, even less in RHD - this car is in the same ballpark as manual 612, the market is virtually non-existent for them
I am thinking of selling mine and getting an FF. I like the four seat cars. the 550 is no doubt the best looking designed car Ferrari ever made. and drives like a dream. mine has just had a major(NJB Auto, Columbus, Ohio) has 18,000 miles. and just spent $35,000 on a fluff up(new leather dash, paint, new decals and buttons, etc.) any interest at $85,000?
No luck needed they are already commanding a significant premium over the F1 and 550 . But you already know that.
you do realise you posted this in the Australian section. we drive on the left, LHD cars not allowed on the road unless 25 years or over.
very rare car, less than a dozen made if I'm not mistaken doesn't mean it's desirable though, or commands any premium over F1 cars.
I did see a 1998 Ferrari 550 in the rare Rosso Barchetta Color. Seems that only 12 were made that year in that special color according to the ferrari register. And only 3 came to the US ,But there is one in Australia for about $100,000 I think.
I did not notice the location, thanks. the only RH drive car I have is Pete Townshend's 400ai convertible. 5,900 miles on the clock. looks and drives like new.
If that is the maroon/marone colour type,it was at the Classic Throttle Shop for a few weeks.....now it's not. I quite liked the colour and 3 pedals.
