Yes, Its looking good although I am currently reading a whole collection of old Supercar Classics magazines and wondering if the bubble conditions aren't repeating? The articles in the magazines started fixating on the values instead of just focussing on the cars and it seems to be increasingly happening again. Last time the recession and changes in interest rates killed the market around 1990 and took Supercar Classics with it too!!
Their article on Ghibli GIB5000 talks about a car bought for under 10K pounds being worth 100K around the time of its roadtest.
At that time restorations costs were very much cheaper

Just bought a nice condition Ghibli manual and look what I found inside...
Was from Vin #1614, William Boyle was the original owner..

    Hi,
Did you sell the auto then?

Any thoughts on this from our Maseratisti? Zero feedback seller, VERY light on the pricing, odd collection of photos to go with it, but certainly an early car.

A bit too good to be true I would say. Might ring up and try for a chassis number if I have a moment though!

    Best to all. M

    I think I'd buy the DB4 for 42K instead....
Sounds too good to be true?

McGrath had a blue auto for sale earlier in the year.
Described as a driver but would need a restoration in the near future...
I thought they wanted under 60 k pounds for it.
My question is was it the same car?

Don't think so Julian, I think the McGrath Ghibli was LHD...

I do appreciate seeing the progress and realizing how much I would not want to be in your shoes, unless your shoes have deep pockets, then what the hell. Anyway, keep on trucking with your project and good luck!

Yes, the money bit is quite frightening for me and more especially for Mrs JulianMerak!!
My pockets are now nearly empty again but I'm aiming for a totally rustfree Ghibli baremetal restored then painted in the colour it left the factory, matching numbers and roadworthied for $90K Australian all up, which seems OK at the moment, the concours interior can wait....
