At last a fact! McLaren announces that they will not announce their driver line-up "before December" How do you like it? McLaren won't announce 2015 F1 driver line-up before December - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com Rgds
Ridiculous facts. What a waste. I like my toil fueled speculation with a touch of Vizla and Kraftwerk in the background providing that soothing techno sound
But we have been given a few weeks more for speculation by McLaren, don't we? We should be grateful, this thread is still alive... Rgds
I call fake! - That's far too short and to the point to have genuinely come from Ron Dennis! The initial greeting was completed within four words for a start off!
A rational choice vs FA's influence. Herbert: McLaren need 'calm' Button | Planet F1 | Formula One | News, Standings, Results, Features, Video
If I was mclaren I would continue with Button & Magnussen they are different drivers but you need both to complement each other. the money they save on the expensive Alonso who is not gonna bring them anything good but sleepless nights spend it on Aero development as this year cars shows there is a problem.
OK, so official from Ferrari, Alonso out, Vettel in. But no formal announcement from McLaren. So it will come this weekend?
Good question. Looks like the pressure is on FA. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143505217-post465.html F1, Formule 1 - Infos - McLaren : Nous voulons connaitre la décision d'Alonso avant Abu Dhabi | Nextgen-Auto.com Well, you will probably have it in English before I’m finish with my translation, but here is a quick translation, in time for the breakfast of our American friends: November 6th, 2014 McLaren patience is wearing thin with Fernando Alonso McLaren has forewarned Fernando Alonso that they are not ready to wait much longer his decision for the 2015 season. The team would like to be able to announce his drivers for 2015 before the last Grand Prix of the season, in Abu Dhabi, according to Eric Boullier. The Spaniard nevertheless seems on the right path for the signing of his contract with McLaren Honda. “We want to know Fernando’s decision between the Brasilian and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix” says the French Team Manager “we have had positive discussions with him, he would be a good element for us and he has said that he wants the job” Boullier confirms that the snag is that Fernando was opposed to accept any medium-to-long-term engagement. “We want a long-term solution, that is for three years. Not only one year” Whatever the situation maybe, Honda is pushing McLaren hard: « We cannot publicly comment this topic, as it concerns McLaren-Honda" says the person in charge of the Formula One program, Yasuhisa Arai. "What I am allowed to say is that Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton are truly top-class drivers and every team wants them. One of the three has indeed the opportunity to be part of our team for 2015." But from Alonso’s side, there is only insistence on the fact that…nothing can be considered as “done” yet as for today. "No, there is nothing new. I have not yet decided anything for 2015, nothing definitive” says Fernando today, November 6th "With Ferrari we are studying what could be the best decision for next season, that I continue or not, but I would like to choose what is best for my future. I have indeed a plan inside my head as I have already said, but there is not a week that goes by without myself being linked to another different team." “I will make my choice by respecting Ferrari, a team that I love. It has been a difficult season for Ferrari. And for me it has been five difficult years” concludes Alonso.
I saw it posted in another thread and thought it was new. Regardless of its date, it is relevant. If FA has not yet committed to McLaren then these feelings will certainly have intensified.
What is the point of complaining? Not everyone reads every post every day, every hour, every minute. To some this is new information.
Mclaren ran a new front wing during practice. The thing is 100% Peter Prodromou produced and clearly looks more like a Red Bull wing than anything Mclaren have done the past few years. Really brilliant looking design. Mclaren should go well next year if Honda got their power unit right.
What drama? Yeah, Alonso and Hamilton weren't the best of friend, but Alonso's beef wasn't with him. Button is not one to start any drama and worked well with Hamilton. I see no problem with Alonso and Button working in the same team.
You're forgetting Alonso sitting in the pit blocking Hamilton from completing a flying lap in quali. I think they very much had issues. Mark
