Rosberg needed to risk more throughout the entire season! - It's a bit too late to start now!

All he can do now is try to win the race and hope that either reliability issues hit Lewis' car (not impossible but there again they could just as easily strike his own car!), or hope that Lewis chokes under pressure (the problem here being, there's very little pressure on Lewis this time. He doesn't have to win, 2nd will suffice, and he knows that the next rival team doesn't really have the performance to harass him over a race distance).

Basically, unless something goes wrong with Lewis' car (or Lewis' head!), it's game over!

Yes, that is what I meant...That is why I am curious what things will be in next season! Whether Rosberg starts with more risk and self-assurence are whether he gets like Webber with just a single shot on the WDC in his life...

 

Rosberg has been bad on race pace his entire career (read the will Buxton write up). This is not something he will just fix overnight. It's not just about race pace. Rosberg has one main strength; qualifying (41-17 against Schumacher). And 2 main weaknesses, race pace and race craft.

Imo lewis is strong in them all but has been struggling with qualy in the latter half of this season. My opinion is it's down to the lack of the brembos. He basically lost the entirety of his time in turn 1 on his flying lap and that was all down to braking error. Nico was a good 5 tents down in q2 and making errors there but for some reason always holds it together for q3. I think we will find that once lewis gets the brembos back the qualy will be much more even. I remember at the start of the year and lewis was qualifying on pole and nico was getting the odd 3rd and 4th. Take out reliability and cheating in Monaco I think nico would've just edged lewis in qualy by maybe one result. Add in the brakes to Lewis's liking and I think he would just edge rosberg. Either way nico is one of the top qualifiers in the field for sure.

Now Abu dhabi is near impossible to pass. Conceivably nico could hold lewis up now that I think about it - remember Abu dhabi 2013 when lewis was trying to pass someone and then massa got past him. But such a manoeuvre would be carried out with certain risk to nicos lead as well.

I think it's a shame that the last race is a track where passing is difficult. It's going to be quite a boring procession aside from turn 1.

 

Let's assume that's true, then obviously sometimes, lewis is even worse!! You're a terrible fan putting lewis down like that.

Maybe you can explain the last race, then, because if Nico has poor race pace and he beats lewis when neither have problems, then clearly you're saying lewis has bad race pace too.

You look ridiculous trying to diss Nico, you know, because it's so close between him and lewis that knocking Nico is knocking lewis by default.

Another scenario not yet considered; remember they are starting the race on supersofts. I expect the pit window to be around lap 8 or so. Nico slightly butchered his tires in q2 - no lock up as such but debris on them and they have a lap and a half less life than Lewis's tires. Potentially nico could be jumped in the pits here.


Also pit stop timing is crucial here on a track where you cannot pass. Get held up by someone on a 1 stopper and that's very unfortunate.

I think the red bulls could be in the mix - they will be no doubt starting on a harder compound and taking a very long first stint (can they do that if forced to start from back as punishment - move it to pit lane bye Parc ferme and switch tires).Too bad they are so far back they are unlikely to influence the race. Whoever gets stuck after a pit stop behind a long run stint red bull won't be happy - they may run so long and then pit near the end for super soft? Who knows

 

As always it is someones different fault...Hamilton complains in every single qualy or practice about vibrations, brakes or clutch. But I guess beside you nobody believes him anymore...

Another scenario not yet considered: Hamilton can not sleep because he is pissed loosing pole, makes the mistake to read this thread in his hotel room and his head explodes...About as resonable as all the other scenarios you have simulated in your head...

 

Last year pit stops started happening around lap 8. Tire compounds mayve been different. But supersofts won't be lasting long regardless. No need to be so damn rude

I was talking about my posts today. All very reasonable. No rosberg bashing but an honest assessment - did you not read the part where I said he is one of the best qualifiers on the grid?
