that's how I remember it too. I'm sure what pissed off Alonso equally was that Lewis remained unpunished by McLaren. Lewis even insulted Ron over the radio that time, telling him to swivel. Poor form all around.
Wasn't there some sort of coverup attempt on what Lewis said over the radio and what he said in a post race interview at one of the races. Then the recording of the transmission came to light.
Not a Hungary. Those events were well known/discussed. Rubython wrote a great article about it laying it all out
Right. I wasnt trying to say Hammi was innocent, just that they had issues. Alonso's issues weren't just with the team. Mark
Lots of commentary in FP2 today about Alonso/Ron Dennis past split. All the commentators were amazed Ron Dennis would put up with, or accept, an Alonso return. "Money makes strange bedfellows" to quote one of the 'guys'.
A key reason for the feud was Ron's preferred treatment of his "beloved son" Hami. That issue is gone. Besides: I'm not sure Ron has that much to say anymore as Honda might now be in control. At least I read some rumors about that FWIIW.
Ron Dennis? - Not much to say? In the words of John Wayne: "That'll be the day!" During qualifying, the BBC's pit-lane reporter asked Ron Dennis for a quick word on the change from Mercedes power to Honda power.................. I think he's still explaining it all right now, hours after qualifying has ended!
Abu Dhabi GP: Fernando Alonso hits out at Marco Mattiacci remarks - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com Abu Dhabi GP: Fernando Alonso hits out at Marco Mattiacci remarks By Ben Anderson and Pablo Elizalde Saturday, November 22nd 2014, 16:03 GMT Fernando Alonso has hit out at Ferrari Formula 1 team boss Marco Mattiacci following the Italian's comments on Friday in Abu Dhabi. Ferrari confirmed earlier this week that Alonso would leave the team after five years together and Mattiacci said during the FIA press conference that Ferrari decided to sign Sebastian Vettel because it wanted a driver with the "utmost motivation and commitment". Mattiacci added: "I'm sure he will bring the phenomenal experience that he went through Red Bull and the enthusiasm needed to go through certain difficult moments that are waiting for us." Speaking after qualifying at the Yas Marina circuit Alonso, who was beaten by team-mate Kimi Raikkonen for only the third time this season, suggested the Italian only hired Vettel after giving up on trying to retain him. "I heard the comments and I don't think they were very good," said Alonso, who will start Sunday's race 10th, alongside Raikkonen on the fifth row. "If he tried to mean that I was not motivated, he arrived at Ferrari too late. "He's only been here for a few months and has not seen the five years that I've spent here and how I've fought every single race. "Probably I was too old when he tried to renew me until the Monza race, and he kept pushing, and pushing and having talks, and even in the last moment we had a lot of phone calls and e-mails that I still have in my computer. "Probably at that time I was not so old, but when I took my decision I guess he had to find another driver."
Ron is just going to watch the train wreck and then say I told you . Fred is a basket case and if you know the <admin removed> they don't like people talking out of turn
You might want to be careful of the terms you use for people of certain races - A lot of Japanese people find that term very offensive!
I don't think that guy thinks before he speaks, and when he does speak, it comes out of a different end.
Some people don't realise that their remarks can be regarded as offensive or racist, and sadly, some others simply don't care. I felt it only right to give him the opportunity to make amends if it is a case of not realising that the term could be offensive. If it's a case of not caring about being offensive though, then he can take it somewhere else as far as I'm concerned!
And Alsonso, Kimi, Massa, Jensen, etc., actually the entire grid are assets just as important as Hamilton. Without them, there is no event. So still no formal announcement by McLaren, or Alonso? Maybe the other rumor, that Alonso and Webber will be teammates at LeMans next year is true?
Those are at least close and related but how do you go from Kvyat to Kefir? It's like pronouncing your name as toil
OK so now Juan Carlos says its happening Ex-king of Spain: Alonso joining McLaren | Planet F1 | Formula One | News, Standings, Results, Features, Video Asked about the revelation, the two-time World Champion replied: "What the king says I cannot go against. The king is the king. He is always right."
