I think this says everything...... Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina: Who was your Driver of the Day? | James Allen on F1 ? The official James Allen website on F1 All lewis did was get a sensational start. All he had to do after that was not make an error. Yet....he gets 33% of the driver of the day votes? Looks like the majority of people only look at the front of the race.
Unfortunately TV shows us only the front of the race to often...We rarely saw Ricciardo during the race and he must have overtaken more cars than anyone else starting from the pitlane...I understand that they did it during the last race of the season when the spot was on Hamilton and Rosberg but unfortunately they did that the whole season...At least at the free TV I get and I guess this is very much the same everywhere as the images come from F1 themself
I think that one has to take into account the fact that it was the final race and that he clinched the WDC. That's what the "majority of people" was focused on in this particular race.
I get your gripe but he ran the race he had to in order to win the championship. What more can you ask? That he stop mid race and make tea for the widows and orphans?
Can Ron Dennis avoid blowing a blood vessel after Honda forced him to take Alonso back? Will Kimi be able to come up with more excuses? Will Seb be able to drink the Ferrari kool aid all year when things go wrong?
Says it all to me, more facts stare you in the face, but yet again you try a lame attempt to diminish Hamiltons achievements... and you try and needle me haha, may I suggest trying a bit harder, does that sound familiar. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think hamiltons start was the best in f1 history. A start can look great if the guy next to you stuffs it up but rosberg didn't stuff it up. For some reason or another hamilton went flying. Maybe second is the place to start here. Bottas botched the start so can't rate his performance too highly for that reason. Does anyone know it winter testing is played on tv? Never watched it before but would like to watch now. What about Abu dhabi test in a few days?
Ricciardo was the best driver today, easily. Massa also had a faultless afternoon and got close to a win. Had he been pitted 2 laps earlier it would've been possible as less time would be lost when his tires started to go off. Not the first time Williams played it a little too safe this season .
Actually, I think your comprehension issues are on display again. it's "driver of the day" not "driver of the year"...and today, Lewis didn't have to do anything. Ricci Massa bottas vettel and others had to drive much better than him today, and they did. Had the fight with Nico eventuated it might have been a different story.
Oh please. Hamilton had a fantastic start, but Rosberg messed it up. Massive amounts of wheelspin throught 2nd and even 3rd gear.
I did I was a big fan if his last year too. It's the mindless comments of another member that got me irritated. You weren't half bad in all of this.
Glad i clicked on it tbh. I was telling my mate how much kak this guy posts. Struck gold immediately (albeit not that hard...). He almost fell of his chair laughing.
Ham did the hard work for most of the season playing catch up, with his DNF's getting taken out of the race by his team mate ect. So he earned the position today to have slightly less pressure on himself to win the race, but he won it anyway, Nico had quite the contrary situation .
Not commenting on the job he did at hand. I'm commenting on ''the best start in F1 history'' and ''Rosberg had a good start'', which is utter bollocks, as Rosberg made a right mess of his start. FWIW, I didn't vote on ham being driver of the day because I think Ricciardo and Massa did a better job in the end.
