I disagree. He was trying to wipe spilled fuel off his car. That in no way should cause a fire to ignite. It appears the placement of the fuel filler, and subsequent piping may indeed be awfully close to very hot parts of the engine. If the pump did not shut off, resulting in the spill in the first place, then station is also partly to blame for not having their pumps operating correctly. Sad loss of a fine car, but it could have been a lot worse.
Discovered this well done video on an area detailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCF1acFEB04 beev
Quoted from another poster: "He was trying to wipe spilled fuel off his car. That in no way should cause a fire to ignite. It appears the placement of the fuel filler, and subsequent piping may indeed be awfully close to very hot parts of the engine". I have to say, I completely agree with this comment. With the Porsche 918's exhaust pointing skyward, I can't help but wonder what would happen if a 918 was parked outside during a heavy rainfall. Surely a cylinder or two would fill with water too. I am positive that Porsche has this handled somehow, as there is no way Porsche would ever assume no owner of a 918 would ever allow just such a scenerio to happen ... Herjavecs LaFerrari was photographed in the rain afterall.
Looking for comments on World Fine Cars in Etobicoke (service, staff, cars, etc). PM me as required. Thanks!
Nice group of people, and they do stand behind the cars they sell. They have been around for many years.
I agree, my brother bought a boxster from them, he had no issues taking it to an independant for an inspection, and the car was great for him. He had one minor issue, and he took it back to them to have it repaired and they where excellent again
Hey Guys I got a question. I am taking my Ferrari to Vaughan Ferrari Dealership to get the recall done and a couple minor things under warranty. I was surprised when they said come anytime Saturday (which i assume they weren't busy). I asked if there might be a curtsy car? they responded with "There are no loaners for Ferrari." I have a maserati which i serviced there for 4 years. I have had a curtsy car even when i never asked and thought it wouldn't take long. I think it is because they like to clean and wash the car too. I was wondering if you guys get a curtsy car when you go in for maintenance work on a Ferrari. I am wondering if it is because i did not buy the car from them (bought it in Quebec)
If you owned a Tesla you'd be given their top model to play with while your car was being serviced. Unfortunately it seems that Ferrari of Ontario doesn't offer the same level of customer service. When I had my car in for service at Ferrari in Mississauga I hung around in the waiting area and did some work. The service being performed only took a few hours though. Since they own the Fiat dealership next door they should at least have a few 500s for the Ferrari customers.
You have a valid point, another reason why the local Ferrari dealer has a fail in customer service. Where is the Ferrari dealer in Mississauga? A service centre? I only know about the one off Rowntree Dairy Road in Woodbridge and in Toronto on Avenue road. Chris
The showroom on Avenue Road is closed half the time. I have the feeling it was only put there as a strategic move to prevent Ferrari from licensing a separate concession in the city of Toronto.
My mistake, it's in Woodbridge not Mississauga. I tend to think of everything to the west of the 400 as Mississauga A car dealer and service centre that sells vehicles averaging in the hundreds of thousands of dollars has no excuse for not providing something simple like a courtesy car. It takes big balls to tell someone who has bought a 458 or a LaFerrari from your dealership that they're on their own after dropping their car off for service.
There are no P1s in Ontario at the moment. There were a few here earlier this year: a custom-painted car (now in Vancouver), a Mercury Silver example (now in Montreal) and a Volcano Yellow P1 which was visiting from the USA. The next P1 to hit the streets here will most likely be DeadMau5's but it won't arrive until next year. A couple of photos I took of the "Whitest White" P1: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Confirmation that the Alfa 4C is every bit as beautiful in person as it is in photos. At Maranello Alfa Romeo in Woodbridge (Toronto) Ontario last night for the Canadian premiere they had 3 of the special limited editions on display and 2 regular versions. Stunning car!
