Curious? I know the Testsrossa did. Also is the ride height on a F512M adjustable?

    Thx.

2 shocks per side on rear, I believe they are ride-height adjustable but not 100% sure.

Adjustable height only, no shock adjustment

So single coilovers in front, dual coilovers in the rear. Adjustable for ride height too...

If I recall...Testarossa not height adjustable, 512TR and F512M are height adjustable.

There was suspension changes (during the Testarossa run I think) but as far as I remember they all have two coilovers per side on the rear.

Do we know why Ferrari went with dual dampers for the rear?

it was not only a problem of the 2 dampers, more of the 2 springs and the heavy weight on the rear axle. same has been on the BB.
I think it would be ok only 1 damper each side, but how you would put the spring in then?. so 2 dampers with springs makes sense

    Because they copied Jaguar? ;)

The downside to using a single coil-over damper at the rear is that the bottom end has to be attached above the rear axle so the whole package gets taller (although they made this work on 2X6/3X8 coachwork), and a single large coil spring has a lower self-resonance (and the steels used in coil springs of that era weren't like they are today so they tended to be much larger/massive things for the same spring rate - compare a 4" 308 spring to a modern 2.5" spring). Using the dual design was the known/straight-forward/low-risk path at the time.
