holycrap Andrew!!! everything comes full circle haha.

Yes, very, I am very grateful for those harnesses thank you for those. I believe I am still the only US Scud to have them.

I have a strong hunch why he wants to return the cs.

As for the cdf, man that thing gets around. had not realized, but now i know.

There is a massive pile up of orders for the new 458 Speciale that will go left unfulfilled. I'm guessing a number of people are getting Scuderias instead.

I had the first CS delivered in France and then traded it in for one of the last ones.
Then I got one of the first Scuderias. That was in 2008. I kept the Scuderia a whole 3 weeks before selling it back... The CS is still in my garage between my F40, 599 GTO and LaFerrari - where it belongs....

There are cars and then there are legends

Awesome! I'm a big Defender fan. Regret selling my Beluga Black D90. Speaking of rising prices on old cars, have you followed pricing on Defenders?? Through the roof!!

Wow wow wow! Peter, was that your black CS with the French colored stripes in lieu of Italian stripes?

Those harnesses are now difficult to find. And had you not bought them from G, I probably would've ended back up with them. Full circle indeed. lol

Just curious - did you get a chance to take it to the track? What is it that made you trade it so quickly? Genuinely curious. Great garage you have there.

Been told by a maranello rep, that production #s will be extended to a 3rd year as a Specialé coupé variant parallel to the Aperta to somewhat meet demand...similar to the LaF production increase.

wonk wonk. thanks to new boss marchionne =)

I recall being somewhat skeptical after having driven the Scud on the road. Yes the engine had grunt but the chassis and brakes were not on the same level as the CS and it felt heavy.

So we had a two day event at Magny Cours on the F1 track and I took both. My impressions were confirmed. The Scud didn't have the agility, poise or balance of the CS. The front end lacked precision and the weight was a real issue. While the 'box was quicker I didn't like the kick as j found it unnecessary and that it made me cringe for the mechanical suffering - on the Monday the Scud was gone!
To answer another question, yes my CS is Nero Daytona with a red, white and blue stripe instead of Italian colours

I gotcha - great to get your perspective!

You are 100% right about the front end. I've found that this is suspension setup and setup/line in the turn. You definitely have to position/load the Scud properly to get great turn-in and need a good alignment with proper rake/ride height.

So funny - the kick in the ass from the superfast2 is the main reason I bought the scud! : ) Different strokes for different folks and all that! ; )

You must dislike the 458 then due to the weight? Have you driven a Speciale? Wondering how you feel about that - obviously very fast, but even heavier than the Scud.

I am a big fan of the 458 - it is a beautifully balanced car. The Speciale has a front end worthy of a CS , the power and smoothness. Makes the weight disappear. I have good understanding of this car as I race a GT3 in the Blancpain Endurance Championship (and won the Championship) and a GTE in the WEC and Le Mans

From the beginning that has been my very same thoughts. Yet a staunch few still argue the point.

Perhaps now with additional race drivers echoing in with the same impressions the few remaining may open their minds to the possibility of it being a reality.

Very interesting. I ran the 458 back to back with the Scud and, although I was faster in the 458 and smoother, I liked the Scud better - just more engaging. I agree on the 458 - I think it is very balanced and the best car of its kind ever made. I didn't notice the extra weight either if I'm honest.

Great experience you've had there - that is awesome! Going to racing school shortly myself here in the US : )

None taken! You only prove your complete ignorance about what makes a Ferrari great!!!

Try driving all of them, and then maybe - just maybe - you'll understand

I love the F40 too but not sure why you consider it more of a "legend". I don't think it was raced or won an thing significant. Therefore, it's right there with a 599GTO and a LaFerrari. Just awesome, limited production Ferrari's. Just like the CS.

Well, there is one point: the CS was created in order to homologate the last version of the 360 N-GT which was the 360 GTC. The N-GT / GTC was a hugely successful racing car winning GT Championships all over the world.

The F40 LM did actually win a few races in GTE spec (at the hands notably of the Swedes) but essentially was a racing flop.

The 599 GTO is a road going version of the 599 XX and the F150 is LA Ferrari (while we await the XX!!)

The F40 is still the car that every car magazine compares every great Ferrari that comes. However I don't think they ever compared the F40 to the CS. However it had been compared to the Scud.
