Had two hoses go bad on my 328. One was crap inside and ready to let go - the mechanics noticed it during a major service.

And one blew while I was 40 minutes away from the shop or house. Not a fun experience for me.

I don't play golf at a country club. But I like knowing that the 355 is Less likely to develop problems that could be prevented.

Hopefully the thread has at least reminded everyone to check your hoses and connections sooner than later regardless of what your budget is.

Agreed. Everything's OK until it isn't. Then when it isn't, it's never convenient.

So does SR kit supply hoses that the UK one does not?

Are all of the SE pictured hoses correct for a 355?

Why would they leave some of the hoses out?

Looks like the UK one (FOB UK BTW) includes only 7 hoses.

So, sounds like the ultra-premium hoses don't really cost that much more.
When I look at a car for potential purchase, the use of such premium parts is a big plus. It says a lot about the previous owner and adds overall value, often exceeding the cost of the part. I like knowing a car has been "loved".
Twenty-year old perishables such as hoses (and belts), on the other hand, say something entirely different about the previous owner.

With those pieces included in Sri kit the price now fits.

    So,

    Superformance silicon 8 piece kit = $200

    OEM rubber "sleeve" x 2 (not silicon) = $700

= $900 and coming up short by 3 pieces when compared to the SRI kit.

It's not like we are talking profit margins like ink used in inkjet color printers - highway robbery there...

I had two hoses fail on me this year.

One on the Ferrari and another in a different car.

The other car's hose was 20 years old so I kinda got what I deserved there :)

The one that failed on the 355 was the result of a partial screwdriver puncture courtesy of the person who put the engine back in the car last time. (A supposed ex forum expert btw)

I bought Dave's kit and swapped the blown one and as many others as I could. The rest to be put in this winter.

    The quality is OK.

64328400 should be a molded hose. The straight one provided kinked over the summer and I removed it.

These were pricy and I suppose it makes you feel better that you spent all this money on hoses (and hopefully the quality that goes with the price), but would I do it again? Not so sure.

Add in the clamps and it would appear that SRI's hose kit is reasonably priced.

I must be one cheap son of a gun....

To me it seems most of these hoses can be matched up to domestic/jdm hoses for less than a $100.

A 355 is a $60,000 car or so. If regular rubber hoses are good enough for a $125,000 vette, or viper, they are plenty good enough for a 355.

When my 930 was only "worth" $20,000 several years ago, I replaced all of the hoses. Some of them aren't available anymore, and the stock hoses were $450 for one dinky hose. I found a near perfect match at PEPBOYS for $13.00. Still working fine.

Now that 930's have skyrocketed in value (Thanks Haggarty! What are these things now, 80,000-100,000$++?)... I would still do the same thing.

I would never put cheap or lousy parts on my cars. Usually I try to put on something better than what was on there. I know that there have been some posts on here of fuel hoses that looked horrid after only a couple of years, and have failed. Etoh? Don't know. But the hoses I put on, which were basic hoses, have had no such issues. And we have etoh in our fuel too...

I am sure that $1000 hoses are better. And truth be told, money no object, I would buy them. But, money is always a consideration...

Does Dave sell these separately? If so, im curious what the price would be without the 2x 145015, which seems to be the bulk of the cost.

It is #28 in the diagram below.

The picture is not near what is actually in the car though. It is a sweeping 90 degree turn going from vertical off the pump to the horizontal hook up underneath the burp tank.

The hose provided was too long (better than too short) and it would kink before I could secure the tank. Trimming it to the length that was removed helped but apparently not enough. I put the old hose back in and it was fine.

BTW, is there a specified torque stetting for hose clamps?
