Stunning Daytona, I too would be interested to know if it was sold with those wheels originally.

As for restorations, well down here in Africa things move....shall we say slowly. Admittedly it takes forever for parts to get here which doesn't help matters either.

really cool, just like mine!..I think I am going to have to get some alloys, as the sparking boriani's are taking an age to clean each one!

our daytona 1444X was built in Aug 1971. There was no silver stripe and came with borranis.we did not order it that way.there was no discussion about wheels or silver stripes. our test drive car was brown with silver stripe. Coco was our test driver and Dick Fritz the salesman. Just an fyi.

+/- 1400 total made. About 120-125 "factory" Spyders, +/- 1300 Berlinettas (Coupes) of which at least several dozen has been known gotten converted to Spyders later in their life to varying degree of authenticity and IIRC, around 15 "factory" Comp. cars, which all might be included in Berlinetta production totals.

Thank you, very interesting information. Here is another Daytona also from that 1971 time period below. Lots of different specification details from car to car even on 1970's Ferrari models.

Sadly, yes. I learned the hard way that a Classic Ferrari is not a good choice as a sole exotic if you want to drive year-round. However I did put more than 10,000 miles on it, and enjoyed it every minute (except for those moments that I needed to brake more than the car was capable of). And, if your garage isn't up to snuff in sub zero temperatures.
