Can anyone tell me what the min. thickness is for a vented front brake rotor on a 84 Mondial QV cab. the figure in the manaul I have seems to not relate to my setup. Couldn';t find anything posted previously

    Thanks

Minimum thickness as specified by both Brembo (09.4297.10) and Ferodo (DDF583) is 20mm. Initial thickness is specified as 22mm. These parts are both listed as being equivalent to Ferrari p/n 117185.

I don't remember the number but my rotor was stamped with a min figure on it somewhere.

Thanks for the info. Saved me from buyer new rotors as they are well above min. thickness. I will change them at the next pad change.

    Thanks!

Do these specs apply for the "T"?

Yes, it should if Ferrari p/n 117185 is specified for the front of your car, which it almost certainly is.

Rear p/n 117186 is also listed by most vendors as suitable for the QV through the 't', the Brembo equivalent p/n is listed as 09.4254.10, which has a 20mm wear limit listed.

So I think you're almost certainly safe in using those wear limits both front and rear.

There are still some things I need to research more regarding brakes, wheel bearings, and the like. I'll write up everything I've found when I'm satisfied with the quality of data I've collected on Mondial brakes in general.

BTW, The research I've done so far indicates that there appear to be no common cars that use these rotors (not a surprise, considering Ferrari probably had very specific ideas when it came to engineering the brakes), and that Brembo and Ferodo seem to be the only active suppliers at this time. If you look at the manufacturer's data, these are without question a premium grade part, so I guess we should kinda expect a premium grade price.
