    Just heard about this today from local dealership. 991 Targa Turbo coming next year (think summer) for 2016 model...is this old news?

    I hadn't heard, but very cool. I don't recall seeing a Targa version of the old Turbo.

    no 997tt targa that i am aware of
    old 911 turbo targas in the 80's though

    Porsche is planning to do away with the normally aspirated engines for 2016 across all lines... the planned 911base motor is turbo under 3L ( 2.7 ?)... there is an exception for the GT3? ... Porsche will build you a turbo targa now, ask nice and send money with your custom order
