Why does anyone post this? If you are posting this, you don't know what you're doing.
You can't negotiate if you can't find the car. I started a -wanted- thread here and bought a car a week later that was not on the market. Would love to hear from the experts how this could be done more efficiently.
Sometimes there is a potential seller who is not sure if he is ready to sell or hasn't given it much though yet. But he is entertaining the thought. Your wanted add makes that decision for him and he contacts you! That's how I bought my Testarossa. When I was searching there were maybe just a few in the whole country that met what I was looking for. I put an add to see if there maybe some more out there which were not put on the market yet. A fellow member here who was local to me contacted me and told me he hadn't even thought about selling his until he saw my add. I drove to his place that afternoon (only 10 mins away) and we made a deal after the PPI! I wasn't being desperate, I was using every available resource. I do admit though that I got a little lucky
I can't tell if you are serious or not. When I can't find something at Ricambi, eurospares, eBay, or other online sources: I go to plan B. which is the members here. I have found EVERYTHING that I have ever wanted or needed for my car for fair and reasonable prices from members. I've never felt ripped-off. They likely have something gathering dust or an extra copy. Sometimes they have sold their car and did not include every extra part that they stockpiled. There is a reason Ferrarichat has a pull-down tab for Wanted as s category. For cars. Sometimes you just can't find them. Look for a '95 f355 Berlinetta or GTS for sale without a salvage title or poor compression. Very difficult. I like the category! Robb
If I can't find my 328 at Barrett Jacksons auction in January, I'll be posting a "Wanted" thread in this link!!!!
I'd say its the exact opposite. There are many people that just can't be 'bothered' to post a for sale online and deal with a plethora of second party calls, dreamers, etc. It makes the transaction for both parties much easier. It has nothing to do with negotiation skills. Haven't you seen the adds for "We pay cash for your house"? That said...... WTB: I'm looking to buy a 512TR or Testarossa, if you know anyone please PM me....
