Despite the fact that these two are different cars, these 458s are stunning!! The Speciale A is so gorgeous! Congratulations to both of you.
Thanks, I'm really lucky to get an A so will have lots of fun with the Atelier/Tailor Made and maybe do what I did with my spider which was to see it finish on the production line and drive it around the factory yard before it was test driven and shipped. The process of buying the car is part of the fun and Ferrari, if you visit them, make that a great experience.
Thanks for the replies! And I agree with DavidJames1, spec'ing the car is half the fun. The long wait for the car; though agonizing, is also part of the theatre and suspense (almost like Ferrari foreplay .
Since they let you drive it around the yard some, any idea if they would let you take your car out on the track at all? Either way, has to be an awesome feeling to be over there to begin with
Didn't think of asking to be honest as the day I was there there were journos from all around the world for two reasons. Firstly, it was the anniversary of Villeneuve's death and his son was driving his old car around the track and if I remember rightly Massa was there also and Fernando. Secondly, they were also launching the California's first upgrade - the 30 I think it was called. Had lunch with the Atelier guy I'd dealt with before at Montana and the drivers plus lot's of Ferrari big wigs were there - didn't see Luca though. Fantastic day and purely luck that there was a lot of factory action. All made possible by Vittorio from the Atelier.

Those aftermarket wheels look actually decent. Would be my first choice if I would something different than stock.
