The FIA board (including ross Brawn) have concluded that Jules' speed was the reason he went off track. Other cars comprimised their speed for the conditions.

He hit the crane at 126 km/h. I think the crane weighs 2600 kgs, and the car 700 kgs. With the speed, i think we can come up with the impact formula?

Sorry i'm not good in physics or maths..

Of course, the FIA is never at fault ... sigh

Driver error is not surprising. It happens and might well have been the cause. It does not negate the effort to make the sport safer. IF he was at fault so be it. Hopefully somehow he will recover.

He drove into a tractor. The tractor did not drive into him.

If the tractor weren't there he wouldn't have driven into it.

Also, the word "drove" has the connotation of control. At that point Jules was a passenger.

Which would have been a better option.

Hit or drove. Does it make much difference?

If he had crashed into a wall he would be OK now, just like Sutil.

Perhaps not as fortunate as Sutil but still better off.
Those walls are designed for impact. Tractors aren't.

Or maybe like Senna at Imola - he drove into a wall to.

Well, maybe the crash would have been worse than Sutil´s, but Bianchi hit the tractor with his head. He would not have hitten the wall with his head, that´s 99% sure.

Perhaps. But given the choice which would you rather impact?

Senna drove into a much more solid wall than Bianchi might have done. Also, the cars from the two different eras are not comparable in terms of safety.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

He suffered a 90g deceleration. That's the cause for his injuries. Look at his helmet, just scratch marks on it. If he had hit the tractor with it, his head/helmet would be crushed

Debatable: the tractor ripped off the left side of the car thereby slowing it down

    That´s the point.

Just imagine a crash like Senna´s but with a tractor instead of a wall. They would have used an envelope instead of a coffin.

You never know for sure but given the choice I'd say that the wall would be the prefered option.
In any case it wasn't the impact speed alone that caused the major injury but where the blow was delivered. That would haven't been the same had he hit the wall.

Yup but it could have been mitigated. Jumping out of an aero plane is dangerous. But rather less dangerous when done with a parachute.

    Actually isn't that false?

The speed compounded with the rapid deceleration is what caused the injury. If I'm not mistaken there was not a scratch on his helmet. I believe this was info already stated before. I'm not trying to imply any of this.
