My post was relating to the original post where the engine and brakes did not make this a car that I felt in my opinion should carry that type of price,(the car was not built with those specs) If I offended anyone I am sorry, and if the information was input wrong in the original ad that's not my fault. Once again sorry if I did something wrong.

I am glad to see you taking a hard line with this. I have been very vocal that moving to a thread-based classified section would stoke comments by non-buyers.

I didn't take Lonnie's comments wrong, but I've been on some threads where the OP is immediately attacked ("you are asking too much!" or "this part isn't original") - it's wrong.

My view is that if you aren't interested in buying the car, wish the OP good luck and be done with it, unless they specifically ask you for feedback. It's really tiring and in poor taste to sling bad comments when someone is trying to make a sale.

Thank you! I really would never want to get in the way of a sale, as a lover of cars (all types) and I have owned many different Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsches, FGT, BMW Z8 and Corvettes which I hold a special fondness to, I simply had a knee jerk reaction, sometimes your fingers or lips move before your brain...

It's bad internet etiquette. Just like the posting of a photograph is not a solicitation for technical critique. Don't take it personal.

I actually owned and resorted a 1959. Always wanted a 1962 for the 327 motor. Worked on restoration of a 1955 as well and helped out on a number of other C1's, C3's and C4's. Never touched a C2 and given their cost, it's probably too late for that. The mag wheels are fine from a collector standpoint if they are period correct, Crager or some such. I would mount them and show a picture of it on the web site along with a photo of the hard top installed. The disk brakes are cool, but detract from collectability. The car looks great and would make a nice cruiser. Even if everything else is bone stock and restored, you are not going to get Bloomington rating until the brakes are back to NOS drum. Me, I wouldn't do it. I'd just enjoy the car for what it is. In fact, I'd probably put in a roll hoop and maybe some door guards internally. Also seal the gas tank compartment because it is in the driver's compartment separated only by cardboard. I used to hot rod my '59 (Z28 engine replacement) and had some really close calls. Not sure I'd pay the asking though. Still, it's an asking, so let's see where it goes. The color combo is superior, IMO.

It's bad internet etiquette to point out factual and accurate infomantion about something that is not period correct?

I think if you represent something as stock and we know better it's up to us to point it out in a polite and professional way. If you don't want people making these comments, don't post the car on a forum. It's my responsibility to make my comments in an objective, non-confrontational way. We are car geeks and we like to talk about them, but that doesn't mean in a trollish way. Just my 2 cents.
