Good luck, hope you find it quickly, and it's okay.... Really horrible. Can't imagine how horrible it feels to have had your home invaded like that

    Robert,

Maybe posting the VIN and some photos would help.

Could indeed help. Also list any unique features, if that applies.

Sorry to hear - hope it's recovered fully intact with no damage!

Agree, you might want the VIN and "stolen" coming up in a Google search ASAP.

Is there some way to report the theft to CarFax?

I'm not certain, but I believe CARFAX gets the police reports.

I doubt anyone will try to sell the car....It's going to end up in a chop shop and the parts will be sold off.

Unless some bozo just stole it for a joy ride...

This was my thought as well. I hate to be a pessimist, but most likely they'll find it burned up on the side of the road, or won't find it at all because it will be in pieces.

Not to continue down the pessimistic path but if it happened to me, I would likely never want it back....

    Why?
Simply because the car that I've cared for so diligently, would likely be abused by the idiots who stole it and who knows what its gone thru..... :(

Hopefully you have a good insurance policy that allows you to get a replacement vehicle of equal or better condition and care!

    Good Luck!

    Cheers
    FN

Post this in the northern California section here:
    California & Nevada (Northern) - FerrariChat.com

Posting the VIN is also a very good idea.

Probably on a ship to Eastern Europe or Russia by now. The problem with us folks on the west coast, is the ease of just putting nice cars or motorcycles in a shipping container and closing it up. That car will sell for 5 times what it would here to some rich Ukrainian.

Sorry for your loss, but you should get full value from the sum insured right? As mentioned above, I'd rather get another one...

    All the best

A Ferrari is a good get away car!
However, don't be surprised if it's just left in some parking lot or somewhere because it's obviously easy to spot. If they have any brains at all they don't want to spend a lot of time in it.
Bottom line, they either left it nearby, or it was chopped up within a few hours. (that's my guess)

My guess is a crime of opportunity and a joy ride. It will be found flogged in Oakland.

What type of insurance do you have for the stolen car? Are you expecting a fair market value reimbursement (with depreciation)- after the allowable time to find it has passed OR are you going to get full replacement value or what you paid for the car. I'm very curious as to your response and the insurance carrier you are using.
Good luck with this issue--whether you want the car back or not.

    Sorry to hear about this.
My Ferrari was stolen about a year and a half ago. It turned up a couple days later with minimal damage-- someone just took it for a joy ride and left it.

I got so stressed out by all of the "It's probably on a ship" or "it's getting cut up". Try not to perseverate on that. Everyone will keep an eye out for it. Thankfully it's a "new" Ferrari and insurance can replace it. Still, I'm sure it has sentimental value that isn't replaceable.

Just be sure to keep calling to police to check on it. Car theft is a pretty low priority to them, so you want to keep it on their minds.

Good luck, and I'm sorry about this. Sucks!

Agreed. Hopefully OP will get his payout before found and have the opportunity to choose to have it back or not.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope the outcome is good.

With that said, anyone else find it a bit humerous that when looking at the thread list, it reads - "Wanted - stolen ferrari."?
