I'm thinking of purchasing this 458 Italia but wanted to see what you guys think.

What would you guys consider paying for this car?

Any options that I might be over looking that are a must?

I'm coming from the dark side (Lamborghini owner) and this would be my first Ferrari vehicle so want to make sure my experience will out do my previous experience.

Thanks in advance guys and hope to learn more in this community!!!

Nice example. The price seems to be in line with what else is out there. You may knock off 10-15k depending on a few factors. I love white 458s, but so do a lot of other people. If this is the one you want, go for it. Only real benefit to the newer cars (2012 and onward) is the 7 year maintenance. Interior on this one is sweet. Racing seats are very much sought after and complete the look imo. Looks like the original owner specced a nice blend of carbon options and the aluminum trim, as well as the much wanted LED wheel.

Go for it and let us know what happens.

edit: looks like riozilla and I gave the same price that you may be able get it for.

Looks like a fair offer. The car has all options you might want - maybe even more 😉 Can't tell you anything about the price though as I live in Europe. But there are other experts around...

Yeah the 7 year maintenance was something that was on my mind, but the car just seems to be well put together by the original owner its hard to just pass up. Thanks for the help gmast827.

Market is VERY soft....offer $205k and settle <$215k
This car is very well spec'd.
I would have no concerns assuming PPI and records verified by Ferrari are in order.

    Best wishes.

Yeah I was thinking 209-215 would be a great deal.

I read somewhere here on the forums about the transmission being a issue on the 458's is that correct? I know the main thing we looked for on the Gallardo was the clutch wear.

Yes the drive shaft of some late 2011 and early 2012's were affected and offered a repair or complete transmission replacement with warranty starting over from time of replacement. Good records and a PPI would clarify if that was an issue. You can also call FNA give them the VIN number and they'll tell you if that car was affected by the recall. My understanding is that a very limited number of cars were affected.

Certainly a good deal if you can get it for around the ~210-215 mark. With later model 430s still commanding 140-165 the floor is only so low. You could drive it for 2-3 years and recoup more than you would if you bought an E class benz.

I spoke to them about this car and if I remember correctly they were willing to sell it to me for $215k so you should definitely be able to get it in your range. Good luck!

The date build says Jan 2011 so its a early 11, I will call Ferrari just to have that piece of mind.

    Thanks for all help!

May I ask why the deal didn't go through? Was something wrong with this vehicle or did you find a better deal??

    Thanks

I decided to hold off until the replacement gets announced in a few months to really let the prices bottom out before I pick one up. I never had a PPI or anything performed on the car. We didn't get that far. I remember you from the L-Talk forums I think we actually spoke on there several times. Good luck with the purchase man.

I just bought a 2012 TDF 458 in similar spec with 6k miles for $225k. Just so you have a comparison.

    Congratulations! TDF is awesome.

This car here looks nice. I agree for this car 215 is about the right number.
