Different strokes for different folks, personally I think it's cool. But I don't think it's so cool to not state a price and ask if anyone is interested. At what price?

Yup... you want to just look at a Ford GT, buy a poster - is the way I feel about this sort of thing.

That said, it's the owner's car, he can do whatever he wants to (or not) with it.

Well I would agree that cars are meant to be driven but truth be told if the seller has had this car since new or even a few years they stand to make a pretty penny. GT's are one of the somewhat rare cases where they have continued to rise in value.

I thought the same thing (due to years in vehicle sales)and almost spit out my drink with your comment. I don't see any problem with this vehicle selling. Geez imagine buying a ford gt new and using it for 5k miles (not this case duh) and selling for more than you purchased it.

Is this possibly the lowest mileage fgt?

I was recently at a Ford Dealership buying parts & asked the service manger if he had driven any Ford Gts that come in for service.

He told me that ALL the Ford GTs that come in for scheduled maintenance, arrive on a car hauler & leave on a car hauler, NO test miles!

I can see the rationale behind buying the Ford GT/s purely as an investment & NOT driving them, as I would believe that those owners have other cars that are driven, seriously doubt a Ford GT with only 3 miles is the owner's sole Exotic Sports car.

Just to lubricate the numerous moving parts & seals, especially the various rings & seals, even placing the car on jacks & running the motor & going through the gears would definitely benefit the drivetrain.

There is a distinct difference between a properly maintained car & a "time capsule".

There is a new Ford GT coming in 2015 ... once that lands watch how the price of these older ones will drop like a rock.

Doubtful. The simplicity/analog nature of these that wont be replicated again is what has inflated the values.

Dream on. Word is Ford is only producing 500 total cars and the pricing is sure to be 500,00 plus (IF you can get one- which you can't). Lots of big city Ford dealers saw what happened with the Ford GT and damn sure aren't going to let this one slip thru their fingers.

Wouldnt odometer still record the miles if car ran on jack stands? At this point just keep it in garage for 50 yrs and then have it rebuilt for pebble beach

500 cars? Didnt they make fewer than that the last time around and the starting price was under 150? I remember seeing them in the 120s at one point.

Very unlikely. Actually, the price for the current FGT will likely appreciate given that there will be even more demand for the current car when the new one comes out. Just take a look at the price of CGT just in the last 12 months with the 918 being in production currently.
