Forgive me guys if this has been broached before, but I was wondering if we could get something together that would specifically focus upon paint, polish and interior maintenance. I know that some of us in the group (Vas) are more adept at this than others (me), but what if we chipped in and hired a professional for a few hours of instruction? Sound like something you'd be interested in doing?

    Cheers, Henry

    Peter and Tim,

I'd like to do it sometime in February maybe. As always, my house is open, but the location (Hemet) may be problematic. I have enough room in my driveway and garages to handle at least seven cars at a time. If we got together in the morning and spent a few hours on instruction and some hands-on work, we could take a nice drive up into the mountains, have lunch and come down the other side to I-10. Finding a qualified detailer out this way may be an issue however.

We can see what the consensus from the group is and go from there.

    Henry

I mentioned to Henry that is Hemet is too far out of the geographic area, I could do something in Sherman Oaks again however the weather is questionable in Feb and March with regard to rain so early April may be better. Also just before Pasadena if anyone is planning to enter there cars on April 26th.

Is that a problem? I have a pool and hot tub to go with the BBQ and Booze. Are they worth inviting?

I think Ferraris need to be driven! Why not a run out to hemet? Are there any hotels there and maybe something to do the next morning before heading back to L.A.? Fish Diamond Valley Lake? Stooge golf tournament? Maybe make it a 2 day StoogeDesertRun

Sorry to rain on your parade a little, but before getting too exited with something like this, I'd be more concerned finding not only in Hemet, but from anywhere a qualified (=worth awhile ?) professional detailer willing to show to group of "stooges" how they don't have to do business with him/her ever again. I could be wrong, but just offering food for thought.
If finding a "qualified" detailer doesn't pan out, maybe you can try a "demonstration/promotion" from one of the detailing/polishing equipment/supply companies (kind of like tupperware party?), although they might expect a certain amount sales of their products to be generated ?

    Timo,

I guess you don't know our stooge vince. We do not need pros, though they are welcome, we got vince. And there are detailers like todd who are very free with how too since they sell products too. And a stoogefest is really about getting together. Fixing the cars is just an excuse.

Well we're heading in the right direction, so we'll see where we can go from here. I appreciate the vote for Hemet (FBB), but understand the hesitation. I'll keep trying to make this happen regardless of the ultimate location and agree that April may be a better choice weather-wise. Keep letting me know what you think and we'll start a sign-up and see where this goes.
