Wolf turbo. I speak for myself.

He has stated that he intends to start a for profit service refinishing sticky pieces after demonstrating results in a thread in the general not vendor or sponsor section.

This is Robs site and he can do as he sees fit but other would be promoters have had their posts removed for similar postings. Software Drone (speaker enclosures) for one.

He has stated that he intends to sell his services for this procedure and continues to post pictures of the service without being a sponsor.

If you have no problem with that then that is your right.

    I do.

I personally think another sticky vendor would be great. Who here does not think StickynoMore has had the monopoly long enough. Not to mention I was not reay impressed with his "you can pay my price because im the only gig in town, or your can deal with sticky parts" attitude. Thank God Pizza Hut is not the only pizza place in town, their pizza sucks.

With that being said, I think docs point is he would like the formula so everyone could benefit from it as a DIY.

    Really Bob?

I know you and Dave have some sort of issues, but I don't see any issue here.

Dave has posted hundreds of images in this thread about his restoration. Perhaps along the way, he learned how to refinish parts. I *think* he mentioned in a now deleted post that he contacted Rob about a sponsorship.

While they are working that out, I believe Dave is just continuing to post his restoration here. Once his parts are finished, I bet he will show more pictures of the carpets, engine out major, paint correction etc.

I've done plenty to be a contributor to this forum. I've written 3 technical documents and plan to write more. I'm under no obligation to do anything yet I take a lot of time to give back. No where does it say that I must give away all.

I'm not promoting any business yet Bob you are promoting it for me by your continual mention of it. This entire thread is about my restoration project. You are simply jealous that I've worked hard to develop a factory correct and robust process.

    Thank you and good night.

Thank you Luke, Rob, Robb and Marcus. All very true. Mechanical work is next up in the restoration.

I am commenting on the continued posting of finished sticky parts without explanation of the methodology when there had been so much posting on techniques for other items.

The disclosure of anticipated business venture makes the posting of finished sticky items a promo for said business.

    Stay tuned...

Jealous? That is laughable and just ridiculous.

Mucking around with sticky parts had been going on on this site for 20 years. If you want to try and sell another version of a process that has been perfected and discussed as nauseum, have at it.

You are now into the realm of a vendor and are promoting your product on here. Simple.

I see what you are saying, and I don't doubt that there's more in the works behind the scenes. There have been numerous users here who have identified a need over the years, shared their progress with the members, and have ultimately decided to market said items. Gold connector kits, 348 grills, "yoshi like" shields, detailing services etc. Heck, for those of us who have been around long enough, this is how SNM got started. That being said, I am also friends with Robbie, and I'm sure he's watching closely. I'm sure things will get interesting.

Till then, I awaiting Daves progress with this thread and his 95 355. I for one hope he decides to sell it when he's done. I need a 4th 95 355 :D

I think we should take this discussion to another thread so this one can stay on-topic. I'm sure Rob Lay would be the first to comment here, if he has an issue with the work or story of what's being shown. It is a full restoration of Dave's car in this thread. Bob you weren't demanding to know what shampoo and cleaner Dave was using for his filthy carpets... Where is this bad blood coming from?

I recently sent items to Robbie at StickyNoMore. He did a very nice job. I don't mind paying for his expert service or his secret formula.

There is another new "guy" in colorado doing the sticky removal business. If Bob wants to start a similar service, more power to him. I wouldn't think it's going to pay for anyone's retirement... :)

No harm no foul, as F1movingPizza says, theres room for everybody.

I think he has commented by the pulling of threads discussing a new business venture.

The continued posting of pics if sticky refinished items without discussion if methodology with the acknowledged disclosure of going into business doing if is further promotion ad a vendor. I.e. Software drone.

I'm sorry if you don't get this but that's what's going on.

Interesting that you were not kicking and screaming when I posted about sticky removal Bob. PS, software drone was a sponsor, not sure why he is no longer.

Please create your own thread Bob and stop corrupting this one.

    Good bye.

    This is not necessary.
I removed all the 'sticky' parts from my interior last winter.
The vents were easily cleaned assembled and came out perfect.

    Hey Tim,

The lift arms lock every 2" of lift. They also lock from rotation 3" off the floor.

Passenger window switch trim. Bought new from ebay but was totally sticky. Stripped and refinished. FYI, don't assume new parts will be OK, they are not.
