OK great the major problem with 2 posters is when the arms slide in our out. That's where you get into trouble. Sounds perfect.

We dropped 3 cars in 2 years with 2 posters all due that issue of arms not locking. Another landcrusher wagon from not rocking before lifting, it nosed over to the right. Dang looked ugly but little damage. Sure did make a good USED vehicle after that :)

Really? Wow. Why would the arms slide out under load? I don't understand coz the load is not in the direction to pull the arms out.

Now I'm paranoid, thanks Tim :)

If you have the vehicle loaded uneven side to side and when the vehicle rocks it can wiggle the arm out to the side and one it goes it goes. Most of the time you can counterbalance it by just holding it and hitting the down button or yell for someone to do it.

If the arms lock from horizontal movement you have no issues at all if you rock the car real good before lifting/ I may even have a pic of the landcrusher somewhere as it was pretty funny at the time and no one was hurt. It was only up about 3 feet getting wheels changed.

    EDIT

Let me add were talking idiots were working on these cars not the highest form of life LOL

I'd like to add a comment from the peanut gallery. I love this thread, and many more you have contributed to. You have contributed knowledge & skills beyond the huge majority of us. I am constantly amazed that you can find the time not only to do the work , but then inform the rest of us.

Hey Dave. Can you comment on how easy/hard you think the rear glass is to remove once the trim pieces are off?

I also saw this video on youtube reviewing a "black on black" cleaning spray can, which seemed to do a decent job. Might be a great option for those not looking to get too technical on finishing. Or another great option to maintain after youve finished your parts.

    Hey Ken,

Seems like a nice product although I don't think I'd spray the engine bay down like that. I would not use this on interior parts since it adds too much shine. Interior parts can be cleaned with warm water and no chemicals.

I've never removed windows so I cannot comment.

Dave, Just a tip for others. A flexible extension might be an option for getting to those nuts.

I wouldn't use that stuff on the interior either. Are you finishing your exterior pieces with the same finish as your interior pieces?

Dave, what are the two canisters under each corner of the rear window that are wrapped in heat material? My 98 does not have those.

FYI - - - - I am NOT the only "gig" in town. I know of 3 other refinishing shops here in the US alone and several outside the US.

I took an idea that NO ONE had done before, built a model for it from nothing and ran with it. I didn't copy someone else's idea, business model, prices, etc. Did it 100% by myself from trial and error. And since then numerous companies have tried to imitate it. I guess I am doing something right if others are trying to copy me. :D

As you know Robbie, I've used you before and was pleased with the work. If you see the begining of this thread, I decided to go about this myself because of the type of project it is.

I'm not copying you for the record. I'm doing some things different
    and enjoying the process.

. Thats like saying Good Year invented the first tire and everyine else is just copying them. Well no ****, its a round rubber tire with tread. What others have done is offer a better tire, for a better price and with better customer service IMO. Sooner or later that may happen to SNM. I was impressed you sponsored some UFC fighters though. Was watching this weekend and saw it on the shorts. Had to pause it a few time to make sure what I was seeing.

Not sure what your personal issue is with me, but probably not appropriate for this thread that Dave started. You are welcome to PM or email me if you need to discuss something.

And yes, SNM does sponsor 2 UFC fighters - -Jeremy Stephens and Johnny Case

No issues, just think its overpriced for what it actually is. Unlike this forum, this country is built on free enterprise so I welcome choices for a realitively easy process. It just basically comes down to the finish (paint) you want. More choices should drive prices down. I can get a car painted for what a few interior bits cost. Keep up the good work Dave.

Just curious what do you base "overpriced" on? Other places that do this type of work have price sheets/quotes you are comparing to? Or that is just your own opinion based on all the parts you have refinished personally and know the cost of labor, materials, time, overhead, etc?

Our prices across the board are on average are 1/4 of what a new part costs. We also make a guarantee that the parts we refinish never get sticky again. Ferrari and Maserati cannot make that guarantee. We have also helped design and market numerous parts that are no longer available for purchase from Ferrari, so the 355 owners can still obtain those parts are a reasonable rate. Currently Ricambi America sells those parts for the customers in need. If you only knew the upfront costs for tooling, production, etc that goes into each $50 part. I will say each part costs thousands to reproduce. Money that may take years to make back just to break even. I am still currently thousands of dollars in the hole from the reproduction of the three switch trim from a few years ago for the Spider owners that I personally had made up and fronted all costs for because Ferrari no longer makes that part.

I would love to hear more about your price thoughts, maybe we can adjust our prices to be more in tune with what the current market is offering. Please elaborate.
