I am surprised the seller did not take the time to fix the few obvious defects. The dash looks like it was vandalized. Spend the $$ to finish the rear of the car (weld in the holes and paint) The investment to repair would yield a lot more $$$$ Should be interesting

Considering todays optimistic asking prices on most Countaches, you would think, even if this car needs a complete interior and engine out/ clutch And misc paint work, byers would fight to get the deal, based on the sellers somewhat low reserve, very interesting indeed.

  9. What is the reserve?

Probably not the best comparison of car, IMO. Considering what the silver car just sold for ( hint, not the asking price), and three other transactions that have recently happened, and the fact that there are other QV's not selling, 500 for a QV FI, skirted car is not in line with market (read:too high). Plus consider the amount of time the car would be out of commission, and that is risky. I think you are too high on interior and too low on mechanicals. I have seen what happens.....30 should be a minimum.

Seller seems honest and so does the car, asking is out of range though.

I find it humorous to read, but for anyone to think this seller is giving this car away is just wishful pandering. The seller knows what this car will sell for when fixed up and im certain, based on the price @ $190 k + RESERVE NOT MET that the price will be north of $250k if that even reaches reserve.

IF this was my car, i would set the reserve @ $500k and wait to see what the market will pay, if's its a high # and goes unsold, i would send an offer to the highest bidder and go down the list from there. The seller is in control here all the way, just undecided im sure what $ he will accept for the car. If he knew this, there would be a BIN and be done with it.

Nobody thinks this car can be had for nothing , my quick out of my rear end estimate was based on a reserve nmbr given to me on the phone by the actual seller at the time,no ifs or but s. iMO based on that nmbr, the total bill inkl 70k in fix ups could bring this car inn considrably lower than todays asking prices, again i repeat ASKING prices .then again ,you can ask all you want,if nobody is paying ,thats all they are.
If however the real street value on a 88 Countach is 300$ , the deal should be given a second thought, all good ,

You are sorely mistaken if you think that is what I, or anyone, is thinking. You think the seller knows what it will sell for when "fixed up"? Have YOU actually spoken to him? Why you think this seller has certainty when the market itself is sporadic is beyond me.

Your comment about "if it was my car" is yet another example of the lack of strategy and poor knowledge of the market for the Countach, not to mention the "dreaming" nature of every Countach seller that thinks they are sitting on a gold mine JUST because it is a Countach. Listing your car on ebay and nowhere else also exhibits the lack of ceedible strategy, as many well know that many of your bidders will shill and your second chance will flake. Credible bidding for market value on ebay? Please.

Further, contrary to your belief, he knows EXACTLY what they will accept, however, no serious buyer has gotten close to it. Think about that for a moment and you might have an epiphany.

Hey guys, Its Rich Barnes at The Mustang Ranch in Golden Colorado. I am selling this car for a client of mine. Yes of coarse it needs some work. My client does not have the funds to bring this car up to snuff. I have multiple offers and guys ready to go with a bank wire transfer. Most current is for $270 so I would tell some of you to put that in your pipe and smoke it! Lol! Come on, yes of coarse I know what the car is and what it is worth. I owned an 85 Lambo Countach about 6 years ago and sold it. Prices have come a far way now and a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it! Clean open title no liens or salvage. Car fax shows 4 owners with a clean bill of health. This car was on posters all around the world for years. Red with tan interior what more can you ask for! Any questions just give me a call. Best regards, Rich 303-931-5412

Well, Rich, I guess a lot has changed since Saturday. If you have what you were looking for, what are you waiting for? With "so many" other offers you had and so many buyers that told you you were out of range at 270, I would think you would have jumped on it. I do find it amazingly ironic that you just so happen to have an offer at the exact amount you told me you wanted to be at.

The Countach was on a poster too? Wow, I didn't know that. Refer back to my now immortalized quote.
