You got a great car, I know the cars 2nd owner (Chris) it is a gem. Sal at Racing Red in Sydenham for mechanical service.
Interesting, I know a couple of people that were looking at the 328GTB, wonder if one of them bought it. The Dino price seems ahead of the market, did you see the silver 308 GTB 'glass ?
I think that gtb is off to japan. the sales man was telling me that. he was a little upset cause another one is leaving the country
thanks guys I got the report of the car today from a indepentant mechanic and it passed with flying colours. other than its not blowing cold air from the air con and a little oil residue around the sump drain plug area. other than that im like a kid in a candy store. ill get some pics soon
Hehe! Speaking of aircon (not the one on here), mine hasn't been working for two years. I keep saying I'll get it sorted, but really I just put the windows down or take the roof off. If it's 42 degrees, I don't want to be in my car anyway.
You should have knocked off another $5K to cover the cost of the aircon repair. I have the complete service history for my 348. I found plenty of a/c repair jobs amongst that inch thick pile of paper work. There were several $5000 a/c repair jobs for a replacement of the leaking a/c evaporator in the front of the car. I have had two a/c issues in my in 10 yrs of owning it. Once I found a leaking shrader valve which leaked out the refrigerant. Had that replaced and a/c charged back up again, fixed that problem. A few months later, I blew an aircon hose on top of the a/c compressor. They don't make that style fitting anymore, so I had to re-use the ends which is perfectly ok. We cut the ferral off, fit the new hose and re-crimped new ferrals in place. Worked great. That time I replaced the drier and charged the system again. A/c worked great for many years, until around two years ago......... When my a/c stopped working again. I never bothered about checking it out till 3 weeks ago as I had to take a school girl to her graduation, I thought I better try and fix it as last year the girl I took to her grad was a little hot and bothered. Fan blows fine, a/c "button" on. But it's not cold. Pappy puts a/c gauges on it and finds the system pressure a little low. Pappy tops up the a/c. Still no cold air. *Will put the correct amount of refrigerant in it when it's working properly* Pappy checks all the fuses and relays. All ok, still no cold air. Pappy has big Brother Pappy swing past to look at his car, so big Pappy starts to check for power at the pressure switch while I fix his car. Big Pappy finds power to pressure switch. All ok, still no cold air. Big Pappy has to go pick the kids up from school, so Pappy takes over again. Pappy checks for power to a/c clutch. All ok, still no cold air. So now Pappy thinks the a/c compressor is ****ed. But Pappy talks to a/c specialist friend and he asked if I checked for a bad earth. Pappy forget to check for a bad earth. But the car is all back together now. I am taking the Ferrari for a drive tomorrow or the next day and driving it work again this week of night shifts. I will have a look at the wiring diagrams for my car and find out where the earth is to check it. Hopefully it's a broken wire there somewhere or just needs to be cleaned up. Worst case, we have to run a new earth wire to it. It won't look original, but it's not that bad as the a/c compressor is under the car, it's well hidden................and a total **** to get to. Will let ya's know what happens in my thread when I get around to fixing it. Being Xmas and all, I might not get around to it next week but we will see how we go.
Heads up!! The car is back on car sales.... Had to pull out due to the future wifey non approval... Gees I wish I was gay some times... Well no not really. Top car in every way
