    Should be an 83 Automatic car.

    My 1982 Series I 400i is #40555. So I would think #40065 would be a 1980-81 Series I, not a 1983 Series II.

    Sorry...the 83 was a typo for 82. Certainly not an 83 Series II..........
    82 was noted for US importation, so it could conceivably be an 81.

    Anyone have a record of it?

    This is why I ask. I purchased this owner's manual set and pouch from eBay a few days ago......(because 50679 did not come with a pouch).....and the receipts and warranty book are all stamped with 40065...so. If someone has the car, we can arrange a reunion.
