$3,600 for dipped lights? Good luck with that.

Wow, that's quite a profit margin. I can't imagine anyone would pay that price for a carbon fiber look.
I thought I saw on here someone selling REAL carbon highlights off a scud for less.

That price is insane! I'm sorry, they look great but that price is just wrong.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your endeavor.

I'm curious about the pricing. Sell me on it. What exactly is involved to justify the premium?

So, it's not really 'Carbon Fiber' ... it's a plastic film that looks like carbon fiber. Right?

Wouldn't you agree that your thread title is more than a little misleading?

I think that I described it carefully so as not to mislead anyone. But I am pleased if people look at my postings.
I would never defraud anyone. And am beyond honest in my dealings.

By the way it's not plastic. And you cannot tell the dip from the real thing with both in your hands at the same time.

It's not that bad compared to having someone re-and-re the headlight units to get the fog out.

Selling them one at a time to reduce the apparent price is perhaps misleading.

    BTW: They look very nice.

I will put some sticky carbon like fiber stuff on your lights for $1299.00 each, please pre-order so I know how many rolls to buy. Of course you will have to pay shipping at this price ... BUT WAIT, I will do the second one for free ... Just pay separate shipping and "handling"

The OP says..."per light"... so with 4 lights per side X $$$$ = aww shucks, I'll let you do the math. LOL

I can't even imagine they look that good. Probably looks like something from Pep Bro's or Autozoink after you put em on the car.

Wow. I just read this thread.
LOL you guys are sooooo far off the mark.
It's not sticky crap!!! It's a proper layer of Carbon Fiber.
That why the cost is so high.
Not adding a layer of vinyl, might as well do wallpaper at that point.

If you want REAL carbon fiber headlight give me a shout.

You say dip and wrap. Those are terms used in water silde decals. Not in laying up carbon on a part.

To clear up confusion then tell us the following:

1.) What type carbon you are using. Weave, tow, weight and type.
2.) Prepreg or wetlayup. Type resin.
3.) Vac bag and oven or autoclave. What pressure.
4.) What do you clear coat them with. What do you do to limit pinhole effect? Do you de-gas? Nitrogen overlay?

If they are real carbon bits then all of these questions will be well understood and easy to answer.

This way we can remove any doubt as to what the parts are. This will help you with establishing your "bona fides".

I assumed that it was this:

Isn't this hydro dipping, as described in the OP?

    Forget I offered.
I'll stick to selling it to our customers in our own shop.

I'm not hungry enough to do battle.

If you want to buy an engine, transmission ect. Give me a call.

Hi everyone, I live in the United kingdom and saw an Ebay ad for carbon fiber (parts) Orr my 360. They were described as "carbon fiber" so I did a deal on radio and instrument surrounds, transmission tunnel and air boxes. He threw in a carbon key for free. Well guess what they arrived 2 weeks later and turned out to be the original metal pieces hydro dipped in carbon effect. I was gutted! Fortunately I paid with PayPal so got my money back.
    Beware!
