There's an interesting interview with Walter Wolf in this month's Motorsport magazine in UK.

Mostly about his F1 days, but it's funny after getting used to being immersed in every detail of Countachs on here, how it just glosses over the fact that he fitted some wings to his, and doesn't make the link to the factory winged cars at all.

Lot's of unwritten stories about WW I'm sure!

If you go back early in this thread there are some. I spoke to Walter a couple times about a dozen years ago, and he told me that the Marchet Countach book story that he had just one special engine that was transferred from car-to-car is wrong. He said he had Dallara build a 4.8 litre engine for 1120202. He then had Dallara do the same for 1121002. Thus there are 2 Dallara-built 4.8 Wolf engines, one in each of the aforementioned cars. I seperately checked this story with Gian Paolo Dallara. He confirmed it.

1121016, which used to live in La Jolla, California, as it exists presently. The Blue Tahiti paint and the tan interior are original.

is there also any Information how Dallara did that, since I wouldn't be surprised if the LP5000S was built later the same way...

Countach LP500S 12515 (winner of the Supercar shootout @ Bembridge Airfield on the Isle of Wight in 1983), the first Lamborghini I ever purchased (in 1986), the begining of many, looking very well as spotted on a return trip from France to the UK just a few days ago.

Yes. There were several ads. I have a ton of notes I took a decade ago from my interview with the executives that put together that campaign. Its fascinating and if you ever do a book I will share them with you. The description told to me of how the add executive walked into a board room and pitched the Alpine board that they should actually buy a Countach (as apps to photograph them) is priceless.

I like the Ferrari jumpsuit with the Lamorghini, but what is up with the upside down American flag?

I noticed this car has no sideskirts. Was that an option or a production run thing? Mine does not have them, but looks like most 87-88 cars do. Thanks
