Whatever it is, I would not be surprised to see it bring more than SV money, as it has at least 4 times in the past.

That would be a matter of opinion. If you want a perfect, restored car then yes (back to original). But the car supposedly drove very good. I was present when the car was fired up (after a service/tune) for the first time in years. Looked and sounded very healthy.

I liked it as is. But then again, I like a car that is driven and shows it. Not show cars. I know in the hands of the right paint correction person/detailer, the paint and interior and engine bay could be brought back to life rather nicely.

I must say, not being a fan of black cars, this car's lines look amazing in black. Perhaps one day I will shuffle cars around and obtain one.

Most importantly, I stay away from this thread and stay away from the Miura because I simply do not want to fall in love with them..........yet :). Which I can do very easily because I've always liked the line better than on a Countach. Now for me to high tail it outta here :).......

More a matter of experience with these cars - just looking at the images you can see that it needs to be restored, and that's with low-resolution images.

45 years onwards, these cars (which did not have the greatest build-quality to begin with) by-and-large need to be restored. Unless this has been done incrementally over its life, or fully in recent times, a Miura that is in need of refurbishment will not be a classic car that can be used much with any degree of reliability or indeed offer the enjoyable experience it should.

I guess restoring it would up to the individual. I had a buyer, through a member here, that may have wanted it to enjoy as is. He could chime in to confirm.

I believe it was worked on throughout its life. If I am correct, it is not the original color. The motor has had work done, the heads had been off at some point. Again, I know very little about the Miura, but I think the nose is an S and was told the rockers are not original. Now, I do not know if they are S or SV.

The car came from NJ. Owner had it for a very long time, he passed away and the guys I know bought it as a package of cars. You could imagine my surprise when I walked nto the warehouse and saw that!

Fair comments. I have lots of experience with Miuras, and I know that to enjoy one it needs to be completely gone through to the extent that it is properly operational in every respect. A Miura is one of those cars where if it is in fine fettle, its a glorious automotive experience. Otherwise, not-so-much.

    Fantastic!

Thanks for sharing, and time for a worthy re-post... the same image I used in my book as supplied to me by CORBIS.

As we know, Eskandar Aryeh was the owner of one or two Miuras. As a wealthy guy with a Jewish decent, most of his family immigrated to UK and US after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He had a great collection of pieces relating to Islamic and Persian art from Safavid era.
#3153 was sold new to him and is lost nowadays. #4761 is also mentioned as his second Miura.

More dangerous evidence that the flippers/dealers are running the show. It just sold for reportedly $800K to $1 million, now is up for auction again in less than 30 days with an estimate range of $1 to $1.4 million! This bubble may pop like a nuclear explosion imo!

Not surprised. Either way, such a cool frickin car. I really like the blk/wht. Looks rough out in the daylight! Does it look like the front right wheel has too much negative camber?

Glad I did not trade my Countach for it :)
