    I am looking for a mint, low mile 550 in Red/Tan. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

    Good luck with that...They are either re-covered or will need to be with most 550s...Common issue and very expensive to do.

    As long as it has been done correctly then it isn't a problem, and you will never be able to tell. And like GS stated above, if it hasn't been done, it will need to be eventually. Thats just part of the 550.

    The reason it is mentioned in the ad is because it is a very positive thing. The pickier you are about this kind of thing, the harder it will be to find one and the less likely it will be that anybody wants to help you.

    Predicated on the extent of the sun/heat damage they can often be corrected without replacement.

    Yup, in some cases the leather can be stretched and reglued. Not mine, and that was the only damage.
