    Usually, Kravm wrenches are marked "Ferrari" on one side, and "Chrom Vanadium Kravm" on the other.

    Thats correct because the spark plug socket is very specific. In fact its the only tool in the kit which is actually useful, over using standard equivalents.
    Clearly some thought went into its design. I have not found a better tool for the front bank of spark plugs.

    Sorry, I do not have the exact model of your car in mind? What's written on the two sides of the wrenches' handles?
    Looks like a later replacement tool roll to me, especially due to the "solid", That is non-translucent handle of the screwdrivers (??)

    Basically complete!
    - judging "by the eye", the spark plug tool seem to be the 'large one', that is the one for a 308 (14mm plugs).
    - wrenches do look to be "Kravm" to me (the 8th wrench - 6/7 - seems to be present judging by its shape in the pocket, even if it cannot be seen because of the label); screwdrivers do not have the "Ferrari" inscription, which would make this tool roll kit rather for an early-to-mid production 308 QV, but some of the late QV did have tool rolls without the screwdrivers being enscribed.
    - I must confess that I do not understand what the small tool in the pocket for the emergency window crank is: a carb adjustment tool? a small spark plug tool? And you should have the emergency window crank in that pocket, which is therefore missing.
    So, only the window emergency crank handle is missing. Otherwise O.K; To me, at least...

    Okay thanks!
    I already bought it so there is no way back :)

    It is for my 308 GTB QV (1983) so I think it is perfect.

    Looks very good to me for a 1983 308 QV, Harry.

    The tool to the left of the pliers is the carb adjustment tool 100520 - not much use on a QV - I think its NLA so sell it on Ebay - EUR 100 if you're lucky

    I believe that the chronology of the tools is as follows:

    Early 308's ('glass and carb/steel) Everest India wrenches
    Later 308's (2v and early QV, possibly) Polytools Italy wrenches
    Most if not all QV's: Kravm/Ferrari or Ferrari/ChromVanadium
    - Not sure where "Utema" got thrown in there; may be random, but I don't think was used prior to '85.

    I know that there are aftermarket tool kits that included BETA tools, and that several models that preceded the 308 had BETA 55 wrenches, but I am not sure that the 308 ever did.

    This is based on what I have observed personally and there may be some slight inaccuracy.

    I do know that the original 308 tools that came with my 1982 GTB included

    * Polytools/Italy wrenches
    * Thinner-handled red grip pliers
    * Lighter orange (NOT dark amber) screwdrivers in the style of the 206/246 Dino and earlier 12 cylinder cars
    * A spark plug tool but NOT a U-Joint wrench extension type
    * NO window crank

    I believe that the tool kit the OP shows is a "re-issue" tool kit. Probably.

    Hope you find this useful.

    Agree on most points except the last one: the tool kit that the OP shows has nothing to do with a "re-issue" tool kit: it is at 100% an original 328 tool kit, except for the strange red-handle tool which has nothing to do in it. The rest is 100% OEM 328.
    Replacements tool rolls didn't have deep red translucent screwdrivers, and furthermore they didn't have the specific 12mm spark plug tool that is specific to the 328 only; they didn't even have a pocket for the spark plug tool, nor did they have the 14mm combination wrench specific to the 3x8 cars. They were "genric" for a lot of different models, and were in fact identical in their tool composition to a testarossa tool roll.

    All right then. I humbly stand corrected.

    The 308 tool kits are the ones I know the most about, and with so much variation, those alone are hard enough to keep straight.

    Has anybody noticed a serious spike in the cost of these tool rolls on eBay? What was $450 - 500 just a couple of years ago is being offered at up to $2000 now!

    Ridiculous. Glad I have all my tools, I guess, but I feel bad for folks whose cars didn't come with them. I think that if I had it to do now, I'd simply buy the aftermarket tool roll from superformance.co.uk . Leather roll, not vinyl, and all -BETA tools. Not exactly "original," but almost certainly higher-quality.

    Same "over here", Bradley: you could find a complete original 328 tool roll for about € 300 two or three years ago, now a good complete one is rather double of that. It is silly indeed; just because the prices of the cars seem to increase lately.
    And I cannot agree more on the BETA tool roll, 'cos this is what I have in the cars; the original ones stay home now.

    Well, I'll tell you what I did: I like leather much better than vinyl, so I bought an aftermarket kit from Superformance.co.uk, put my original '82 308 tools in that, and then sold the BETA tools in the original vinyl case.

    So I have all-original tools, but in a leather - not vinyl - case. Probably diminishes the value a wee bit. . .

    With the cost of original tool kits rising meteorically, I probably should have put my original tools in a safe, and kept the BETA tools in the car, but that's not what I did.

    I did come up with an extra set of tools a few years ago, which I happily sold to a fellow f-chatter for around $400 - 425, if I recall correctly. That was a perfectly reasonable price to ask then. $2000 and up on eBay now is simply outrageous.

    In the tool roll of my 1978 Euro dry sump GTB I found a Champion N-7 Y spark plug, nestled comfortably in between the handles of the plier. I assume that the plug was added later on by the first owner or some mechanic, or could it be that Ferrari delivered the tool roll with a spare plug?

    Apart from that, the tools seem to be quite complete and original. As far as I know, the emergency window handle was not part of the tool roll. On my car, it was in the passengers door pocket, as the emergency light.

    Robert

    Robert,

    The Euros 328s came form the factory with two spare A6GC Champion spark plugs, BUT these were in the jack roll, not in the tool roll. There are even special pockets for the two carboard boxes of the plugs in the jack roll.

    Patrick,

    I bet a beer with you that it is the small flate blade...because it is always that one which gets missing...don't ask me why. Must be one of the most wanted piece of tool kits...
    (The tool roll four screwdrivers are: one big flate blade, one small flat blade; one big Philips, one small philips)

    If you post a photo of the screwdrivers that you do have, I can probably tell you what is missing. The bad news is that it might be very hard to get, and/or very expensive.

    I noticed that as well, but still hoped that the largest one maybe had a different handle...

    It would be nice if someone who has the complete set of the 4 screwdrivers could post a pic.
