Ferrari Sightings

Been seeing an orange Lotus Elise and a yellow Elise running around Fort Mill/Tega Cay area over the last couple of weeks.

 

My cousin used to live in a neighborhood in Fort Mill, and one of the residents there had a yellow Elise (not sure if they still have it). Wonder if it's the same one? They rarely ever drove it when I was there though.

Friday, the 19th, in Charlotte:
- Grey Audi R8 headed South on I-77, near Cornelius at about 1:00.
- Silver Nissan GT-R at Birkdale Village in Huntersville at 6:00. Had an Illinois plate.

 

Today a red 355 passed on Marvin rd near Firethorn. Also a white GTR from SC trying to race. This is the second time running into this guy but I never take the bait. He drives very dangerously in and out of traffic and I in no way want any part of that.

 

I FINALLY made the Sightings thread and with a picture! It was a beautiful day for a drive, a little chilly, but beautiful.

I was headed to Summerfield to see the beautiful LaFerrari that now lives in NC!

Haha. I think I've seen your car once before, but I couldn't react in time to snap a picture. I don't ever seem to spot anyone's cars on here outside of car shows.

 

I saw you today on Rea. Was in my blue GT3 RS. Sold the 458. Speciale coming soon!

 

Yeah I saw you to nice speciale will be fantastic you are a lucky man. I have to ask I need a ride in it when you get it.

 

I've seen two 458 spiders in less than a week. Both were red.

First was on the 19th on Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh.

Second was on 127 in Hickory a few hours ago.

 

we should plan a cruise in to cars and coffee together. I will get a few others to join the drive as well.

 

There were 3 Ferraris: Red 360 Spider, Red 458 Italia, and Silverstone 612 at the Cars & Cappuccino at the Porsche dealer on Independence this past Sunday morning in Charlotte. The 458 arrived right after the 360 departed.

As much as I hate to state it, the Porsche dealer was much more accommodating than FCI. Whilst I had to beg to set in a used 458 at the Ferrari dealer under their careful watch, the Porsche dealer let me sit in whatever car I chose without supervision. Man, I miss the days when Mr. Barney ran that Ferrari dealership.

 

Sounds good. Out of town in jan but feb or march would be good.

 

The last time I went to FCI, they offered to let me sit in the LaFerrari. I didn't even ask! The time before that, when I asked to sit in a Gallardo Performante Spyder, they didn't object at all. Granted, they aren't as accommodating as Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, who let me sit in every car in the showroom without supervision. Try talking to Hank Carpenter the next time you're there. He's the one who offered for me to sit in LaF. Not trying to prove you wrong; they could be a lot better with that kind of stuff. In my experience, you have to talk to the right people. Some of them just aren't nice at all.

Nope - this was during the La Ferrari unveiling at FCI Greensboro.

 

Huh. That's interesting. I'm surprised they'd give you such a hard time, given you already own a Ferrari.

 

Last night, I saw by far the most expensive car I have ever seen in the wild. Spotted a silver Porsche 918 Spyder, at the Sharon Rd/Colony Rd intersection at 6:30. The owner turned into the Harris Teeter plaza, and parked next to an orange and black Lime Rock Edition BMW M3 (he left before I took this picture). Super nice guy. He let me sit in it, which was exciting, though it was very difficult to get in and out of. It was a great experience though, and probably the most exotic car I'll ever see in the Carolinas. Other spottings last night included a silver Bentley Continental Flying Spur outside of the Myers Park Country Club, a black Rolls Royce Silver Spur at Upstream (possibly the same car I saw about a month ago at the Palm Restaurant), and a black Audi R8 Spyder uptown just north of the EpiCenter (looked to be a V10 model).

Red F430 coupe on I-85 south today in Greenville about 2:15pm.

 

A buddy of mine got a video of that Porsche 918 spider being delivered at Leith BMW. Not sure why the owner wanted to pick it up there but glad to see its living in the area!

 

I wish I had asked where you were headed because I decided to stop by FCI to see if it was still there only to find it gone! :'( Anyways beautiful horse with a very nice sound.

 

It was at Sport Auto in Summerfield. A little more intimate gathering vs. the FCI gathering weeks earlier.

Last Thursday I spotted a burgundy 1971-72 Ferrari GTC/4 near Elm lane in south Charlotte. Never seen this one before. Awesome car!

 

Today, in Cary, caught a glance of a black Maserati GranTurismo Convertible in the staff parking lot at Rex on Cary Pkwy, at about 12:10. Later saw a bright blue Aston Martin V8 Vantage on Kildaire Farm Rd in front of Whole Foods at 12:45.

 

Probably not. My P1 is being delivered this morning!

According to the P1 owner's manual the car is delivered completely broken in and ready for road and track use. The track is closed but it is a sunny beautiful day today here in North Carolina and the road is calling!
