Thank you! I chose Tamiya Brilliant Blue, which was the closest to Tahiti Blue. Very difficult to find a suitable paint because the body is made of Lexan and traditional paints would not adhere.

It is a very rewarding build indeed! The kit is very well made. Next step is to test it outside!

Exactly, that's what I heard too.

Very Nice, I found that Opel Arden Blue of the Corsa matches Tahiti Blue the best.

Could also be ignition fail or old rev limiter kicking in, but in most cases what I have seen/heard it seems like good carb adjusting is lost art. You people would not belive what kind of setting people tell me; "runs good" and when you open up air cleaner most of them remind me Mickey Mouse - Steamboat Willie

    I believe it.

The majority of carb Countachs I have encountered do not run the way they should/could.

post #18 8/22/07 well, it did not & it will not:

Change is the only constant all the blather (entertaining, yes) as to market condition, position, high, bottom, 2x-4x.....we have all lived thru the reality of market fluctuation. "It" will happen again, enjoy your cars and be thankful we are involved in this "hobby"....especially on Christmas Day and Holy Season.

Mine has never run the way it should, and probably will never be correct because no one can seem to properly adjust my carbs. I've been to the so-called best locally (more than one) and with each time it only gets worse. So, I just parked in my garage put a cover on it and simply forgot I own it.

That's original, mine are the same way. DO NOT touch those clear decals with the black letters.

Mine is an 84 as well. Please do share pix of your 84.

Is the tamiya blue the same color as in the wolfs #3 blue ct with black flares or was that a stock color?

triple. You got a 500s these are harder to tune due to inherent flat spot. Heard it from pros.
If you want a car tuned right, the best guy who did my car is Evans. He is getting it again next time.
most carb tuners are sloppy and dont take timetodo it right. It is expensive. but once done right, it last.

Another one that amazed me is right here in Connecticut. A shop called Redline. I saw an old carb v12 racing Ferrari started just with turning the key, from cold. then one distributor bank was taken out and half of the bank was. Car started first crank, no gas pedal operated, on 6 cylinders. I never saw that ever. but many days were spent on tuning that car to perfections.

If you have one of these and some know-how, you can make it run like a ROCKSTAR.

That is what it takes, I wonder if one could be made? Reasonably anyways.

At this point everything needs to be brought back to a base line. You (they) need to record from that point what each change that is done. If things get worse, go back. One thing I would check is your distributor. Moisture gets trapped in the cap, and it will rust inside. I had mine rebuilt (about $400), but there is not much to one. You could probably get by with a just clean up/lube if you wanted. It is a mechanical advance distributor. The next (or first really) thing is the plugs and wires. I went with Iridium plugs. The engine was noticeably smoother with them. And check the timing. Maybe add a little advance.
