In the past Greg had a 250 LM. He also had/has a 250 TdF and of course a 250 GTO. The GTO was a much nicer driving experience than the LM. He brought his red F50 to Toronto Canada back in 1998. Some guys who have the old vintage Ferrari cars don't like the new stuff. He seems to be the exception. Very nice gentleman!

i still prefer the tdf blue ones over this new blue. it is a little too corny imo.

by the way have to go off topic a little. have anyone here known anything about this 1:8 laferrari kit??

don't seem to be able to locate the company who made it nor the price of it. but the quality seems good. thanks in advance for any info about that.

That is the page for a guy who is assembling the model. It looks like it's one of those mailorder models where you receive a new piece of the assembly every week or month.

I found these two websites Fabbri Publishing - Costruisci LaFerrari (2014)

    http://www.fabbripublishing.it/laferrari/

Same company name that is featured on the leaflet pictured on the FB site.

    thanks!

i wonder how much it will cost at the end. and no one knows yet how well built the parts are and how easy it is to assemble it into a finished car, let alone how soon will every parts be delivered..but aside from the sketchy dash board carbon pattern, everything seems to be decent.

It says 100 packs on the website. There is some special price on the first two, and from pack three to the final there is a fixed price. Quick maths make me recon it should be roughly €1000 all in.

My honest opinion is that this looks more like a toy than a serious model. One of the main selling points on the specific web page is that you can remote control the doors and lights.

yea the light on the dash seems funny to me as well. for €1000 i would be better off with the 1:8 bbr model, too bad those 1:8 don't seem to have a lot of color to choose from.

For €1k you won't get your hands on anything larger than 1:12 from BBR (dependant of how big your bbr myway card bonus is).

you're right my mistake. but still would rather get then 1:12 bbr over this mail-in thingy, especially it seems to be taking forever to get every parts.

i think the 1:18 bbr was a little rough still and the specs arent very flexible. i remember seeing a comparison somewhere between the mr version vs the bbr and both has some advantages over one another, but to me,it kind of bugs me that the panel gaps are not so refined when looking at it up-close. it is not much of the problem of the sculpting of the 1:18 but the physical limitation of a model in this size with detail like that.

i would like to see the british racing green laferrari with cuoio interior and silver wheels. it is a bold color choice for a ferrari but i am sure it will be as great looking as the tdf cars.

If you want the best 1:8 scale La Ferrari model and price is no object Amalgam Fine Model Cars is the only way to go. Here is a link to their NA distributor at Collectors studio. (they have posted many times on this site before in the model threads). Collectors Studio is based in Canada so there is a nice savings if your purchase is converted from CAD to USD. The standard color is Rosso Corsa but they will make it in any way you choose for an extra amount. They use real factory paint and CAD designs direct from Ferrari. They are a work of art! I have no connection to them-just a fan of their work.

I have a 1:18 BBR and the quality and detail is outstanding. However, if you desire and open model, BBR is probably not for you.

i agree it is very nice for a 1:18, but yes i would like an open model, plus i have seen the 1:18 next to an 1:8 amalgam and the parting lines and seams are just much more realistic ( like i said it is partially due to the size of the 1:18). but i know it isn't a fair comparison and i really can't see myself spending 6000+ on that 1:8.

As you said, not a fair comparison. The interior detail on my BBR is stunning, unfortunately it's impossible to photograph.
