Looks like an air horn pump.
Can anybody share some info in relation to the 75/76/77 15" Fuchs for the 930? 15X7's and 15X8's. Part numbers and/or offsets? They are very similar to 911 and 944 issued wheels, though I can not find a definitive answer on what is what. The same part numbers come up in my research? I think the 944's had an early and late variation?
The 1970s 7x15s are # 911.361.020.11 and 8x15s are #911.361.020.12. Porsche changed the part number for the 15 inch Fuchs in the 1980s but the wheel was the same 7x15s are # 911.361.020.41 and 8x15s are #911.361.020.42. Its a misnomer that the later 15 inch Fuchs were 944 wheels since in addition to 944s, they were also standard on 911 SCs and Carreras through the mid-1980s.
Thanks again. I have bought some later 15's 7's and 8's for my 76 930. I doubt anybody will walk up and point out that my wheels are younger than my car.
Hi, thanks.... not the blue air horn pump, I mean the metal profile my arrow is pointing at. This is missing on my other 930.
Joe First I would like to thank you for an amazing 4 hours. I just finished viewing all 158 pages. Amazing!! I am in need of a complete set of the US version of the Bamberg manuals and any other manuals for owner kit. Please contact me. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Both are 1977 but this one on the photo is a US version and the other one I have is ROW. In the meantime I have seen that the mentioned part is existing also in other cars (930). So, at least it seems to be original. Anyway, interesting to see that there are differences on the body.
"Air horn" I fell a little silly now, sorry for that. My 76 930 ROW (built 10/75) does not have that pressing you speak of.
Ok guy's.... idart, Is this wing the real thing? Somebody has sent me these images as I am in the market for a 3L large grill rear spoiler for my 76. What do you all think? Looking from the outside, it's pretty good if it's a fake. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
does anyone know of a 930 expert that could look at a car for me in the Tahoe area for a fee ..... I am looking for someone that could render an opinion to buy a car which will be sight unseen.. (i have purchased cars sight unseen many times with no issues so far) normally I hire a brand specific expert to check the car out and render an opinion but I am not plugged into the Porsche world and found what appears to be a nice 79 930..... any names would be helpful..please PM me if you can.... thanks
That tail is wrong for your car. The center brace should end half way up towards the upper grill.(see attach). Image Unavailable, Please Login
That tail is incorrect for your car.Center brace should end half way up to the upper grille. (see attach) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Find out if it has a metal base and check the part number that should be engraved in the metal (vs. fiberglass). The factory turbo tails will always have wiper motor attachment points and a drilled hole for the wiper blade attachment. A majority of the reproductions have the smaller secondary grill.
Larry, This is the guy you want: Chip Davis @ About Us - Chip Davis ? Expert Auto Appraisals he has worked for other FChatters, I have seen his inspection reports and I believe he is peerless. If the car is a black/black 1979 belonging to member Mike S then I believe this is a nice example really worth considering. Also, there is a thread dedicated to the 3.3 cars http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/porsche/371414-1979-porsche-930-78s-too-65.html this one being dedicated to the 3.0 cars.
Chip is excellent; extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Also does a great job of photo documentation.
Vinod, Welcome! I believe you should thank idart for his invaluable contribution, and for taking the baton and running with this thread, long may it live on. Sorry, I don't deal in manuals, perhaps others do and will chime in.
To you as well, Joe. As I'm sure you have guessed, they will likely not hit the coffee table until I have read them in their entirety.
Very interesting. I wonder if the added trunk brace was a U.S. requirement? My '75 does not have it but my U.S. '79 does
Thank you Joe I will contact him sorry for posting in the wrong thread..and yes that is the car... larry
