    Very nice.....

And, thank you for offering it to the folks here, with a dealer bid, before selling it.....seems like a pretty fair and legit way to make both buyer and seller happy!!

    GLWS!!

Thank you very much, I found the build all this car was very tasteful. The black exterior with hints of yellow matched to a black interior and all yellow stitching makes it elegant and bad-ass at the same time.

Not surprised. Your 458 is beautiful. Looks like my black 430. I would have picked it up but I was too slow about it.

Congrats. I'm assuming you got quite a lot more than the dealer offered to make up for the tax credit you would have received....

That just goes to show if a car is priced fairly it will sell fast. All the cars that sit around here for months on end are overpriced.

I must have missed this "priced fairly" figure he was asking then.
Fact is there was no price listed. He clearly stated what dealer was offering him on trading in towards his new car. And then says he will "consider" any higher offers.

I'm not in the mood for doing math at the moment, but whatever price on his incoming car is, versus the tax credit savings he would have received by trading it in must equate to having to sell it privately for quite a bit more. That is unless given the Holiday spirit he was feeling generous and willing to lose money on the deal.

I would take that as, yeah I'm very happy with how the deal worked out. And I would assume that means not taking a loss. Congrats on the new F Car, I hope the wait isn't to long!

    Another +1....

Competitive pricing = sale. Holding out and trying to convince people that your car is worth more than market pricing, not so much.....

    +1??? for what???

It is clearly obvious that this car was tastefully put together. To me, someone liked the car enough to pick up the phone to make the call and negotiate a win-win deal. Lets not assume it was wholesale.

I am in California and we don't have a tax credit for trading in a car. Can you please explain it to me. Thanks.

Wholesale? Huh??? I don't think anyone said that.....Actually, to the contrary......The OP was candid about what was offered by the dealer, and then offered it to people here at a price that was beneficial to both him as well as the buyer....that is win-win!! Clearly, the car went for more than wholesale....which was the OP's minimum bid to beat.

The point was that nice cars that are within market pricing sell quickly, those that are priced too high with sellers trying to justify their pricing seem to linger on the market.......

Here in Florida, you get a sales tax credit on a 'trade'.....

For example, assume a 6% sales tax:

Scenario 1.... Sell your old car on your own. Buy a new car for $100k without a trade, you pay $6k in sales tax.
Scenario 2.... Buy a car for $100k, but you have a $70k car that you own and you trade it in towards the new car. The sales tax is only on 'new dollars', (it is assumed that you already paid sales tax on the trade in, so you don't pay again) so you would only pay tax on the difference ($30k), which would be only $1,800.

If you sold your car on your own to someone else, then bought your new car, you would be like scenario #1. If you traded it in, you would be like scenario #2. So, the seller would usually want $74,200 to sell it private in order to equate the tax difference ($4,200) of trading it for $70k vs no trade.
