    we are thinking of sponsoring children and considering "world vision" and "compassion international" charities.
    what is the best way to find out if the funds go to those that need it and not being squandered?

    I have a recommendation for charity when it comes to children:

    This is the foundation of one of my closest friends. She is wealthy and sponsors the charity which means that 100% of the collected money goes out to the people it was intended for.
