We are about a 5 hour drive. We plan to drive down to pick it up. The weather here is generally ok even in Winter unless we have one of those rare ice storms. In that case, we will just wait a few days. :)

One compelling aspect of driving that far to pick it up is getting past the break in period more quickly. That's when the EXTRA fun begins...

I just got some presents from a very good friend.

They are for the garage, for when my car arrives in a few weeks.

One is a Ferrari flag to hang on the wall, the other is a large transfer sheet to put an appropriate saying on the wall that I can see whenever I get in the car.

Ah the fun of a first Ferrari! Everyone around me is getting excited.

    The 12 month odyssey continues...

    :)

What is the latest in theft prevention and theft recovery? What are people using? Anyone know of FCars being stolen, and if so, recovered quickly?

I put Lojack on the Car, i was told it was not needed, as Ferraris are not stolen usually.

I was just hoping it might have gotten snatched from its container and put into a Rosso Corsa sled from the North Pole. How batty is that? ;)

We have all been batty as fruitflys with this buying experience. I now have almost 1500 miles on my car and love it more, the more i drive. those of you who have had Ferraris before are totally understanding the experience .

Geez, I have a lot of bottles of wine (red and, um, white, sorry Marmist...) that I've had in the cellar for over 10 years that I won't open for another 10 years, and having my car at Stage 90 seems longer...

Don't worry, this is not an F12 post in the wrong thread...

    :)

Backtracking on my 12 month odyssey, I'm going to share my inspiration for color choices.

When I put down my California T deposit in February the only colors one could see were the new Rosso California and California Blu. I was scouring Google images and AutoGespot and found the F12 to be the best model to "model" my car.

I liked the look of some of the silvers with red calipers, black grill and just a touch of yellow from the shields, so when the literature came out I was ready with many of my choices, getting me off to a good start. It still went back and forth enough times for me to drive my wife completely batty. I wore out the configurator a couple of times...

Below is the shot that got my attention. Besides the color, I like the 5-spoke wheels on the F12 and liked the standard wheel choice on the California T as a close match (I know it isn't popular with most FChatters), and I especially like the way the 19 inch size makes the brake discs almost completely fill the wheel space. Makes my S Class brakes appear positively puny.

Anyway, for what it's worth, here are the pics, and to whosever gorgeous F12 that is, belated thanks!

Does anyone who received their Cali T know if you have a headphone jack in the infotainment system that a passenger could use?

Hey, my customized Bose noise cancelling headset came in (for road trips where the passenger wants to listen to iPhone tunes instead of engine music...).

They really match my California T configuration colors for paint (Argento Nurburgring), calipers (Rosso Corsa), hub caps (Yellow), rev counter (Yellow), stitching (Filo Speciale Rosso), and leather (Nero and Charcoal). One can tie in all these elements to create a custom match with the car. See Page 5 of My 12 month California T odyssey topic for the web mockups I toyed with from the Bose configuration site. A, of course, was for me.

Now that I have another of my accessories, I just need my actual car at the end of this month...

As a part of My 12 month California T odyssey, I was thinking: perhaps what I have experienced recently can aid CIA interrogators.

They could order a California T for each detainee or prisoner they wish to interrogate. Then notify them when their car reaches Stage 90. Wait a few days. Offer them no updates. Wait another day. No updates. Wait another. And another. Very soon they will go mad and answer every question asked...

    Perfect...

...actually, what was I thinking, it would never be allowed: FAR too cruel a form of torture...

    ;)
